10 weeks til Christmas...

I can't beleive it either!! Christmas things were already in some of the shops yesterday! 8O  I don't want to think about winter just yet!

My mother used to always say to me

"enjoy your life and stop wishing it away, because when you get older the years fly past"

Bollocks I used to think, now I start to wonder......:lol::lol: Doesnt seem 5 mins since i was planning Ibiza back in March....

(......Mind you, I put it down to the debaucherous lifestyle and general memory loss myself to be honest.....)

time just flies by... i feel like i was just 23 yesterday, but that ws 7 years ago!!! bla!!! i need to fill my life with more exciting pleasures!!

That's the only significance the whole Diana w**kfest has for me - I remember being in a club in the Dominican Republic when she died and it seems like yesterday. Couldn't really care less about her (anymore than anyone else I mean - a mother's death is never a good thing), but it's a marker post in time.

Ten years - sheesh, the things that have happened in between!

If i had to spend xmas here in this sh*te weather, same old sh*t on TV,etc, etc, etc id be depressed to bits but all being well once again ill be sunning myself in Dubai living it up.:D

I vow to do what I did last year and not get dressed all day

Cant beat a bit of lounging about stuffing your face with Roses

I LOVE Christmas!! The build up, the actual day and even afterwards (because I will have another week off work yay!).

Slightly worrying that there's only two more payday's though - not sure if that's enough time for me to pay off my creditcard and buy everyone's christmas presents! Eeek!

I love Christmas Eve/Day - but that's it - oh and the 2 weeks of work to indulge in all manners of minxiness but the whole Christmas Spirit thingy ceased to be fun when I stopped believing in Santa....

Its just a massive massive rip off, Christmas never used to start in October FFS!! stressed people everywhere rushing round like its the end of days and then everyone gets depressed as **** once Jan comes and people realise its a 5 week month!!!!

End of rant - thank dog I have no children - what a horrid christmas they would have....:lol::lol::lol::lol:

Bah Humbug

I just love the whole of December. You can go out and get p1ssed every night after work - because it's Christmas
You go out clubbing every weekend - because it's Christmas
There are loads more and better nights on - because it's Christmas
You're allowed to go out and eat pub lunches every day - because it's Christmas

The saying "eat, drink and be merry" definately applies to the whole of December. I just love going out after work and it's freezing cold, walking around London wrapped up looking at the Christmas decorations :D

It's funny because before i first went away for xmas a few years ago i actually hated it (obviously when i was a kid i loved it), i found it to be an incredibly boring and never ending day, (there's no pubs even open here to go to on xmas day everywhere is closed)same rubbish on the TV,etc, etc, even when i spent it with my ex a few years ago i found it to be boring but now ive been going away to sunnier climates my mood has lifted considerably and now it's great, but everyone to their own and hope you have a good one:)

But I can do all that without the "Christmas" label Becs.....:lol::lol::lol:

AND there is NOTHING worse than going out and having to endure a gang of rat arsed christmas revellers on their Christmas Pub Crawl in my book.... :spank: (especially if you are doing your last minute late night christmas shopping and you keep having to avoid the wobbling mass as they struggle to the next pub down the high street)

I think im with you on this one!

I do hate the lead up to it, I wish it would start in November as that would be a good time to get excited - I cant stand seeing it all now and knowing I have yet to buy it all.

But I do love the getting dressed up for the xmas parties, everyone is generally merry, everyone winds down a bit at work, lots of things to go to and organise with friends etc and then the actual day of sitting about eating xmas dinner and stuffing your face just because you can
(do I think about food too much??)

I find New Years a let down as I never know what to do

What a load of misers lol...

I just think it's normally a time (for me anyway) when I feel less stressed, I look forward to having a long Christmas break from work, it's a time when I tend to go out and enjoy/indulge myself a lot!

Plus I get loads of presents as it's my birthday a week after Christmas too so I get double doses HA! :)

But by having your birthday and Christmas spaced some time apart, you get two rounds of gifts at different times of the year!

I'm not a total bah humbug type, but I'm with Pups that there just far too much made out of the whole thing.

The December holiday parties can be fun, but Christmas decorations in October is just plain ridiculous!

As for clubbing every weekend, hitting the pub on weeknights, and taking decadent lunches out... no need to wait for Christmastime to do that!

I look forward to Christmas most nowadays because a) I usually go home & visit the family back in the States and b) I get my year-end bonus from work the following week! :D
(oh, and the presents... and the clothes shopping in the States which is soooo much cheaper)

I just think it should be renamed FlyingSpaghettiMonstermas and we should have pasta instead of turkey.
