The Streets Of Ibiza

It's with very great pleasure that Ibiza Rocks announces a headline performance by The Streets on Tuesday August 19th.

Mike Skinner, a unique talent and voice of a generation, is no stranger to the hedonistic charms of an Ibizian summer, and this season sees him finally hitting the white island with his full band for a show that's been long in the making and is sure to be celebrated like a spiritual homecoming.

The Streets' new album, provisionally-titled 'Everything Is Borrowed', is poised for release in the next few months, so this gig is sure to give fans their first chance to hear the hits before they happen.

Dizzee Rascal To Headline

Stop the presses! Dizzee Rascal will be stepping up the mic to headline Ibiza Rocks on Tuesday 29th July. The UK grime trailblazer joins the already announced Sam Sparro to make this one of the hottest line-ups of an already star-studded summer.

Dizzee's currently Number 1 in the UK with the smash hit 'Dance Wiv Me' - a track that's been burning up the decks all summer long and is sure to set the night on fire in the Ibizan heat.

First off, a massive thanks to The Fratellis and Ladyhawke for yet another great night under the stars...

Next up, Ibiza Rocks with Sony Ericsson welcomes the return of our great friends and all-conquering heroes The Enemy. Expect anthems, a HUGE afterparty at the hotel and impromptu mass sing-alongs from Coventry's finest.

Click here to get those tickets now.

We're all ready to announce the final two headliners of Ibiza Rocks 2008 and - believe us - a drum roll is most definitely in order.

This season Ibiza Rocks is raising the bar by bringing the incredible talents of both Dizzee Rascal and The Streets to the White Island.

Dizzee Rascal will join soultronica superstar in the making, Sam Sparro, to take the headline slot on Tuesday 29th July.

One of the hottest acts in the UK right now, Dizzee is currently tearing up the charts with the biggest record of the year, the flawless Number 1 smash 'Dance Wiv Me'.

So make sure you're on the scene when he hits Ibiza - click here to get your tickets to witness the collision of Ibiza Rocks and East London's finest musical export.

For a sneak preview of Dizzee's talents click here to watch awesome video footage of 'Dance Wiv Me' live backstage at this year's Glastonbury.

Then on Tuesday August 19th comes the moment we've all been waiting for - the unrivalled sound of The Streets live show.

Mr Skinner and friends have put in a few killer DJ sets for us over the years, but this will be the first time the UK's undisputed street poet laureate has done his full show on the island.

A few of us witnessed him hold the whole Reading Festival in the palm of his hand last year - and we can't wait to see what he does to Ibiza Rocks.

We might say this a lot but - trust us - this show is simply unmissable. Click here to make sure you can say you were there.

Channel 4 are recording both Dizzee and The Streets shows too - so be sure to look out for highlights of both gigs in future Ibiza Rocks TV broadcasts.

Just a couple of weeks after proclaiming chez Ibiza Rocks "the best hotel in the world", Tom Clarke's English indie powerhouses The Enemy returned to Ibiza Rocks with Sony Ericsson for an encore like no other. A truly top-drawer time was had by all, cheers to Clarke & Co. for making our night for the second time this summer
banners_01.gif
Next up is the untamed talent of Brooklyn's finest, We Are Scientists. For those of you who are as yet unfamiliar with their unique brand of cheeky humour, surreal style and skewed grooves, the announcement of the formidable support acts should truly make this evening a must-see event...

As well as Ibiza Rocks Hotel's resident rockers, Ok Tokyo, We Are Scientists will be joined by laptop wonderboy and reclusive genius, Whitey for the show on Tuesday July 22.

Whitey is returning to Ibiza for the first time since playing one of the inaugural Ibiza Rocks nights at Privilege in 05. Click here to pick up tickets while you still can!

It's time to reveal the very last headliners of the summer. We're pleased, proud, and pretty damn chuffed to announce the arrival of perhaps the biggest UK-based success story of the year - The Courteeners - for Tuesday August 5.

And that's not all - the Mancunian upstarts, whose debut album 'St. Jude' hit the number 2 spot in the chart earlier this year, will be joined by Ibiza Rocks alumni, The Automatic, who make a welcome return to the White Island with their monster-sized new single 'Steve McQueen', which is already tearing up the airwaves on Radio 1.

Tickets for this unmissable evening are available here.

Last but not least, supporting the mighty Zutons on September 2 is one of the biggest and most justifiably-hyped acts of the year, Black Kids.

Hailing from Jacksonville, Florida, BlacK Kids have been creating a stir on both sides of the Atlantic for all the right reasons: debut single 'I'm Not Gonna Teach Your Boyfriend How to Dance with You' created quite a buzz on the radio this spring, and their debut album, 'Partie Traumatic', has grabbed rave reviews across the board. Click here to book your place at the front.
banners_03.gif
For those of you who are itching to get out there, but find yourselves stuck to the sofa, the Ibiza Rocks experience is due to make a return to your screens soon, courtesy of Channel 4.

The season begins again with a late show on Wednesday July 30, showcasing a cracking best-of set with last year's performances by Kaiser Chiefs, We Are Scientists and Hadouken!

The regular Thursday slot will follow from August 7, then on August 21 the first of this year's shows will screen, bringing viewers the very best in young UK talent courtesy of The Wombats and Mystery Jets.

That's all for this week, but remember we've a mighty fine schedule still ahead of us - featuring the mindblowing delights of Dizzee Rascal, Reverend and The Makers, The Streets, Soulwax Nite Versions and Pendulum, amongst others.

Visit www.ibizarocks.com right now to book your gig tickets and hotel packages, and make sure that Summer 2008 truly rocks.

Keep watching this space for further updates...

We're still picking the sand out of our shorts and wiping the grins off our faces after We Are Scientists, Whitey and Ok Tokyo did Ibiza Rocks with Sony Ericsson more than proud last week.

It was only the second time our bands have played in the hotel itself (since The Enemy blew the doors off in May) but it worked great, seamlessly switching into one of the best afterparties we can remember.

So good in fact that next week we're doing it again - yep, on Tuesday July 29th Dizzee Rascal and Sam Sparro will be playing the Ibiza Rocks Hotel - get your tickets.

But this is Ibiza Rocks where even the support acts are superstars and Dizzee will be joined by the man behind the globe-straddling mega hit of the year 'Black & Gold', Mr Sam Sparro.

What's more the Channel 4 cameras will be in attendance to capture the proceedings for posterity, so don't miss a minute - get your tickets here.
banners_01.gif
As previously announced last week our 2008 Summer Line-Up is now complete with the addition of The Courteeners and The Automatic on August 5. The bill's ably supported by The Clik Clik and our returning DJ hero Steve Aoki.

Click here for tickets and hotel packages for The Courteeners and all the other unmissable music we've got for you on the white island this year.

Ibiza Rocks is returning to your screens on July 30 with the very best of the 2007 season - that's Kaiser Chiefs, Hadouken!, We Are Scientists, The Fratellis, CSS and many, many more.

Later this Summer our returning host Zane Lowe will be introducing you to some of the stars of our 2008 line-up; including The Wombats, Black Kids, Dizzee Rascal and more.

a not-to-miss date for the many lovers of hip hop on the island (who recently
also had the chance to see in action dj muggs from cypress hill at blu), although
i enjoyed sam sparro's funk/soul even more.... the place went nuts when they played
a medley with black box's ride on time and crystal waters' gypsy woman. sean hughes
(disco bomb), who was supposed to dj earlier on, is doing the after show right now.....

Many thanks to Dizzee Rascal and Sam Sparro who gave Ibiza Rocks with Sony Ericsson our biggest show in the history of the White Island this week.

From Dizzee's all-conquering number one 'Dance Wiv Me' to Sam Sparro's inescapable 'Black & Gold' it was world class smash hits all the way, and you guys certainly responded in kind.

If you were there then, like us, you're probably still recovering, but if you missed it then don't panic - the whole damn shebang was recorded by Channel 4 and will be coming to a small screen near you soon.
banners_02.gif
The next Ibiza Rocks live show goes down on Tuesday August 5 and stars none other than Great Manc Hopes The Courteeners in their Ibiza debut.

Authors of the critically acclaimed debut album 'St Jude', The Courteeners have been described as everything from cocky upstarts to Oasis' spiritual successors.

Joining them will be The Automatic who make a welcome return to Ibiza Rocks with their monster-sized new single 'Steve McQueen', which is already tearing up the airwaves on Radio 1.

Click here for tickets and hotel packages.

There's plenty more to come - in the next few weeks we'll be presenting performances from Reverend & The Makers, The Zutons, Soulwax and a very special show courtesy of The Streets and Cage The Elephant - Click here for tickets.
banners_03.gif
We know you don't like to think about all this coming to an end but if you had to go, wouldn't you want to go out like this?

We're thrilled to announce that Manchester's finest electro experts The Whip and LA's hardcore party purveyors Iglu & Hartly will be joining headliners Pendulum for the Ibiza Rocks Closing Party on September 9.

A perfect storm of guitars, a symphony of electronica, an unprecedented party starting super combo of cool - just some of our doomed attempts to capture the sheer awesomeness of this line-up.

Nothing, but nothing, will do except to be there - so click here to see us off.

It's about this time of year, heading into the last month of the season, a good ten weeks or so of Rock behind us, that we wonder if we can keep up the pace.

Thankfully this week we had the hip-rock poetry of Reverend & The Makers to attend to and slowing down wasn't an option.

Also worshipping at the altar of Jon McClure were Arctic Monkeys past and present Andy Nicholson and Matt Helders, who provided turntable support. Our gratitude and admiration go out to them all.

Checking out of the Ibiza Rocks Hotel this week were band-in-residence and our new best friends The Clik Clik, who we had a blast with. Sign them somebody!

Our next in-house band are A.Human who'll be setting up shop for a week, after which we're very proud to be welcoming The Holloways to finish off the band residencies in style from 26th to 31st August.
banners_01.gif
The 2008 Ibiza Rocks Season finally comes to the small screen this Thursday on Channel 4. We'll be featuring live music from The Wombats and The Mystery Jets, plus exclusive interviews with the guys, all presented by Mr Music Zane Lowe.

Sky and Virgin customers, or those of you with freeview, can tune into the newly launched 4Music at 11:15, or simply check out Channel 4 at midnight.
banners_02.gif
This is going to be a big one - Mike Skinner AKA The Streets returns to the live arena via Ibiza Rocks on August 19th, and who'd bet against him debuting some new material from the forthcoming fourth album, 'Everything Is Borrowed'?

Also appearing will be Cage The Elephant, former IR Hotel band-in-residence A.Human and our very own Steve Aoki.

A Streets ticket plus five nights at the Ibiza Rocks Hotel will set you back a mere £188, so click here to get yours.
banners_03.gif
Once The Streets have come and gone we'll be nearing the end of the road with only three more stops on the Ibiza Rocks highway, all blinders, naturally.

August 26th sees the incomparable Soulwax Nite Versions/2MANYDJS running things for the night.

September 2nd we have one of the best live acts on the planet, The Zutons, ably supported by red-hot band of the moment Black Kids.

September 9th we'll be closing things down in style with the party-starting combo of Pendulum, The Whip and Iglu & Hartly.

Tickets for all shows are moving fast so don't miss the chance to hit the white island in style this summer - click here.
banners_04.gif
