Ibiza Sant Josep Town Council said yesterday that local police be sealed on Monday or Tuesday stereos Cova St., both having the property inside and outside. This is a precautionary measure that was adopted after a sound measurement on August 8 exceed the maximum permitted decibel.
The test was made after receiving several calls police protest from neighbors who live nearby, because of the inconvenience suffered by the excessive volume of the music. Measuring the noise level was held in a house next to St. Cova, as said municipal spokesman, who did not provide more specifics.

On August 12 the corresponding technical report was filed and the period of claims that, once completed, has resulted in the decision of the municipal officials to seal the opened stereos. The local owners have to submit an acoustic study and certify that the limiter sound-recorder works properly installed, a municipal spokesman explained.

Although it is possible that the seals are broken shortly, once all requirements are met, the precautionary seal is independent of the disciplinary process, which may conclude with a financial penalty as clarified spokesman said.

It is the second time this summer that a measure of this kind taken against the property located at the confluence of roads and Sant Josep sa Caleta. On July 2, officers from the local police in Sant Josep sealed stereo that was to be used in'Luciano & Friends' Party, which had to be canceled. On that occasion the sealing order also adopted following complaints from neighbors due to excessive noise and considering that there was already a complaint in early June by another noisy session in which agents of the local police could not perform sound measurement and who were prevented from entering the venue.

Since it was remodeled and reopened the hotel, now owned Amnesia, protests from neighbors about excessive music volume and traffic collapses have been very frequent. Last summer there were several interventions and Local Police and Civil Guard for these reasons, although the property has always denied having caused inconvenience.
