yet another San An vs. PDB thread

yes i know this question has been beaten to death, and yes i know how to use the search function; however, all of the threads that i've seen so far on this topic seem to give conflicting answers....so this is what i want to know...

I'm coming to Ibiza for the first time this July (11-18th) with 3 of my friends. We are between the ages of 20 and 22. We will be arriving by ferry from Barcelona (staying there for a week before Ibiza) and will have a car with us. We don't want to be TOO far from the action, but don't have to be right in the center of it either. As far as the crowd goes, we would probably prefer a more international one. Also, we would probably prefer to stay in whatever town is "nicer", as in less run-down and bit classier. So please make a suggestion (San An or PDB) and your reasons for suggesting it. If you know of a good place to stay in particular, don't hesitate to mention it.

thanks.

Sounds like you'd actually probably enjoy staying in Ibiza Town or Figueretas more than either San An or PdB.

PdB is probably more 'international' than San An, but it's not necessarily 'nicer'.

Edit: Talamanca is another good choice.

there is absolutely no way i would ever say that PDB is classier than san an.

possibly the only reason you might think that it is, is cos, as there will be a wider mix of nationalities, you might understand what is being said less than in san an. if somehow a different language instantly makes a place "nicer"

remember san antonio is a thriving town with a rich history and the resort that has developed around the town is very extensive with a huge variety of bars, restaurants, hotels, beaches, shops, etc, etc.

apart from space, PDB has some of the mediocre cheap beer-plastic chair type bars san an has but not much else besides that. oh and a huge beach.

how about san an bay, not right around the bay but around hotels like hawaii, bellamar, bahia. they'd all have convenient parking as well.:D;)

so basically PDB is just space, bora bora, some ****ty bars, and a big beach...right?

agreed with this, we stay at the bellamar every year its a mint hotel and the location is perfect, close enough to the action but far enough away to get a decent sleep. A couple of my mates stayed at the hawaii lastyear and they said it was also a decent hotel.

yeah what did happen in the ibiza inter-resort football tournament because i believe San An v PDB is an eagerly awaited fixture

PDB for us

The reason we now prefer PDB to San An is not for it's beauty....because it hasn't any to speak of, but as we like Ibiza Town at night for it's more cosmopolitan feel PDB is pretty handily placed.
Also on days when PDB beach seems less appealing we can just go down the road to Salinas.
San An has it's good points and we never stay at PDB without at least two or three visits up to San An, but it can get a bit of a 'Blackpool' feel....How many Union Jack shorts can anyone stomach in a fortnight?
Both have their good and bad points and neither can be described as perfect.
