Yacht rental

Thinking of renting a small Yacht for the day for mrs's 50th. Saw somewhere that you can get one in Sept for £100 pp with a captain. Does anyone know where?

825Euro/day including fuel (which really adds up fast - if you do Formentera for example it will cost more probably about 200-300Euros supplement). This includes captain, 100Euro drinks package, watersports, on-board 6-speaker music system etc etc. The boats are faultless day cruisers & really versatile with inboard motors and full width swim platform at the back at water level. They have an on-board toilet too which helps if you're out early (!).

I personally think the boats are the perfect size for max 4-5 + captain (or in my case preferably me + captain  ) but they will take up to 10 if you cram people in. You'll find the same with all the capacities quoted - if you all want space to lie out etc then you need to cut the numbers in half at least which means effectively 170-300Euros / day each for a full day.

Note that if you want to go to Formentera the cost is about 400Euros more and another 200Euros on top of that if you want to do watersports (which use loads of fuel). This is because the boats have big 6L engines and it's very fuel-hungry to do that trip. There's so much great stuff to see along the North & West coasts (including Atlantis which you can get to easily), doing Formentera from San An is a very expensive option.

If you want a bigger motoryacht rather than a luxury sports boat then you're likely looking more like 1,100-2,000 Euros / day. Of course the fuel is MUCH more pro-rata, and usually chargeable on top of the hire cost. Hope that helps.

Failing hiring a Yacht, due to expense, is there anything that does a bit of a day thing around some nice parts of the island etc, some sort of boat trip? Would be nice to to go to Formentera for starters...

Thanks for that. Is this the same boat hire company

No - that's Atzaro's own one. 950Euros/day off-season with a captain. Note in the "what's included" that fuel isn't mentioned, so that will be on top ;).

You can rent a self-drive from Star Boats in San An bay and go tootling round Cala Gracionetta etc etc. To go to Formentera I'd get the fast ferry from Ibiza Town (1/2 an hour). Other than that there are boat parties and the Aquabus (take your sea-sick pills !). You can likely hire from Mamboats for 1/2 a day instead of a whole one (3-4hrs). This will likely be quite a bit less. You don't have to do their packages.

These people with their big boats lol. Had a great day today on this - was plenty for us, decent size eating table, automatic anchor, full size solarium up front, easy to drive and get close in to shore . There was a LOT of heavy swell all the way to Benirras so I was put through my paces a bit but decent size RIBs are much better than fixed hulls when the conditions get a bit challenging. Sea got calm later in the day and it really flew. So much so flying fish flew out of the water beside us :D. Mamboats shut down so got this from Ibiza Winds instead who did us well. Es Portixol highlight as always .

You could easily take this to Formentera but it was nice up North.

PS : - Fuel San An to Portinatx via Margalides, Benirras, Cala Xaracca, Portixol only 72 Euros which was amazing given the conditions and the fact I floored it home.
