Just returned home from a week in Ibiza/Formentera and took the thermometer with me, and it never fell below 23c (on balcony) even when creeping in after 1am, and during the hottest day was a touch under 30c.

Sea temps (1m deep) were a steady 24/25c, and the swimming pool started at 23c but got warmer as the week went on.

So, autumn, huh! I take it we had a heatwave and that normally the temps are a couple of degrees less normally??

Teriffic stuff yet again

I've never been to Ibiza any later than September, but with the temperatures I clocked last year at the end of September, I don't need to. :)

31c+ is getting tooo hot for me! IMO the "perfect" temperature is when it's a hot sun but the sand isn't too hot to walk on (as was the case this week). Cos it's lower in the sky so has more sand to heat up for the same power...I think! Add to that the warm water left over from the summer and it's perfect.

Just wish this kind of weather was guaranteed in October - notice the forecast for the next few days is thundery. After this heat, the storms should look a treat!

What?! We only had 2 days of proper Ibiza weather from 21/9 to 28/9, including a day when we didn't see the sun at all, and a walk home from Sankeys in the rain!

That's the rainy season :(
If you check back the September weather almanak on Weather Underground over the past dozen years, 20 - 30th Sept tends to be the poorest weather between spring and end-Oct.
I've found that out to my cost!
It's because the first batch of depressions moves in from the Atlantic and meets the warm humid summer air over the Balerics and it's a recipe for thunderstorms. Hit-and-miss though, the storms can come later (or earlier) but if it hits, as it did with yourselves, it can be a miserable week
I suppose it's why, on Spotlight, all the hotels prices fall a notch or two from Sept 15th!!

I am going in a few weeks so interested to see what temps are like at the end of Oct 8)

21 - 24c daytime, poss warmer if you get lucky. Sea Temps should still be around 22c, maybe a touch higher if the previous week is sunny. Nightime down to 17-18c if evenings are clear (too chilly for a vest lol) but can be a muggier 21c if cloudy.

Report back and let us know!!
