blah, blah, blah.... right... that's why Chelsea won the title last year... or why Manchester won the title this year with all the money they spent on Rooney, et. al. last summer

When fans of other teams remove the green-tinted sunglasses of envy, they will readily admit that it was Mourinho's team-building and strategic brilliance that turned a bunch of good players into a championship team. End of story.

One way of looking at it could be that collectively, the group of players put together played more consistently and better than anybody else in the premiership this season and therefore the title belongs to them.

Can you say that any of the players in the Chelsea team don't deserve the plaudits?

However, fans should be wary to take credit as a club, the reason being that it wasn't the draw of the Chelsea faithful nor the money spent by the Chelsea fans that brought the players in.

All said, it's nice to see a different team win and for Man U to be kept off the top spot for more than just one season.

If you look at how much Man U and Arsenal have spent over the long term, Chelsea just played catch-up for a couple of years. That put them in the same league. Mourinho took them to the top of that league.

The focus on the money is a poor excuse for every other team and an insult to players like Lampard, Terry, Makalele, Cole, Cech, etc. who are first class people.
