Work banned all forums

Any forum I try and get on now at work comes up with a "blocked" message.

I might have to consider doing some work from 9-5 now, *shudder*

My latest client's office has the same. But it makes it easier to act professional I guess

Everytime you start a new job you say "I won't be online from now cos I start a new job and bla bla bla" but it looks to me that asap you know the office essentials like which is your desk you are in the forum again

It will only be a matter of time tho - then I will have to start playing with the computer at home - which I cant think of anything worse really after 8 hours on a computer at work.....

My work allows this (for now) and other forums. But no Hotmail, work that one out!

A lot of places I have worked at don't allow things like hotmail/gmail/etc - I can't work that one out either

Might be a security measure... to prevent you from sending files or other company info by email. If you send it from your work account they might keep a record of it, but not if you send it from your online account.

One company I worked for used to disable all the floppy drives for that reason... didn't make much difference when flash drives came along

I can get on Wanadoo Webmail but maybe they dont know about that one yet. They block Yahoo Mail and Hotmail but none of the others. You can get on Gmail as well.
