well its official, i love ibiza in winter loads more than summer
even tho i prefer the hot weather, the island in winter is just so beautiful, perfect, and this last holiday there has just sold it to me totally and completely!
saturday
two flights as no direct ones, which was a ballache coz had to wait in barcelona airport for 3 hrs and i could hardly contain my excitement at the prospect of landing on ibizan soil again!
finally landed at 3.40pm to me met at the airport by my larl buddy with beaming smiles and massive hugs, blue skies, gorgeous sunshine, shoved the cases in the back and hit the road to cala gracioneta..
had a lovely chill with thomas the cat outside on the terrace and soaked up the view of the sea and listened to sound of the waves, how wonderful - marvelous to be back again
got stuck into the kitchen and made a wicked pesto pasta which went down very well with a load of mulled wine!
got ourselves ready to hit the west end! lol now i hear a few sniggers! but have you been out in the west end on a winters night in january when the Flower Power festival is on? well i kid you not, it is the best ive ever seen san an look, there were beautiful massive decorations all over town, people must have put alot of effort and work in coz it looked awesome, and just about everyone was in fancy dress. all the costumes were mainly 60's & 70's with it being flower power! there was a big marquee with music, and a band on the street going up and down on a float. and it was just happy happy times, ive never seen the west end so good! and everyone was just so friendly, and no nice! and hardly any brits which was even better!!! lol
rolled home at a healthy hour of about 3am!
sunday
up at leisure to beautiful blue skies, ney clouds in sight, sun was lovely and warm, but bit of a frisky cold wind, so jackets were required!
brunch on the terrace, again with thomas the squidgy gorgeous cat!
then off to my most favourite place ever - the magnificent Es Vedra
the beach was empty, nobody there, so i soaked it up.. spent ages there just contemplating, walking, sitting, in awe of its energies and magnetism, let it work its magic upon us! felt me heart bust open and had a cry! mental! it always does that to me! tears of joy tho! the sun just shone and shone, what a wonderful way to spend a sunday! made lots of little stacks with pebbles, messed about with wood sticks, and generally entained ourselves with all that the beach had to offer! oh and the waves were HUGE!!
eventually headed home for a big chill and more mulled wine! ya cant beat it in winter!
that evening went out for a lovely meal but sorry cant remember the name of the restaurant
Monday
another lovely late morning lounging around doing not alot! weather colder, windy, so extra layers on!
went to a number of estate agents as had a bit of a job on
viewed a villa, met the builders, sealed a deal, sorted, job done!
did some photocopying and a supermarket run
one little shower of rain! i even think ibiza is awesome in the rain! well id never say that about preston lol lol
had a wonderful walk up a hill and into some woods that overlook es vedra had another cry! did some meditation, then did lots of dreaming of winning the lottery and buying somewhere that faces es vedra and setting up home and a healing sanctuary oooh gotta keep dreaming and actually manifest it!
went home and made a to die for curry, yum yum, made homemade pori's (a type of indian bread) but they didnt work out properly gutted, must have bought the wrong flour!! my spanish is poor, and i didnt know what self raising was in spanish, any ideas anyone!!??
got nice and comfy for lovely night on the big sofa playing poker, im rubbish! i lost all my chips! and went to bed very late!
tuesday
oooh didnt rise out of the pit til nearly 12noon! marvelous! esp as i always have to get up early in the uk
a nice spot of cheese on toast and tomatoes followed by trip to ibiza town to another estate agents but only a 5min job, had a wander round and a drink in a cafe on the front there again sorry cant remember its name
then headed off to st.eularlia - for lovely walk all round the harbour, again gorgeous blue skies and sunshine and went for a few drinks in a german bar down on the front - had a good look round the shops, esp kids clothes shops and found some gorgeous stripey tights for my daughter! must learn the spanish for stripey tights
and then back home to cala gracioneta for another big chill and a cuddle with the cat
oooh then went out for a gorgeous meal to a fish restaurant down on the front at san an, sorry again the name escapes me, the service was excellent and the giant king prawns were totally mouth watering - oh gosh - i was slavering big style!!! a few more drinks were consumed then off home for nightcap and laughing well late into the night
