Wishful thinking?!

Curiosity got the better of me while on my lunch so I started to browse hotels for the closings. Hotel Algarb 7 nights 2 people for €351 3/10-10/10 on booking.com. At this price I just had to book it, flights are looking around £150.
Seeing as though me and the Mrs said that we weren’t going to Ibiza this summer I might have pushed my luck. All I need to do now is think of the best way to break it to her and then convince her it is a great idea and we will smash it.

Haha, good luck! :D

Seen the same deal when we were looking for the closings, great price! Settled on Aparthotel Jabeque in the end though. Fancied a change to PDB.

i don't think it will take too much convincing it's just we are both skint at the minute so i'll wait until monies look better then drop the idea. what dates you going Ross?

Haha, I long for the day my other half books a trip for us to Ibiza without me knowing!

26th September to 1st October. You?

yeah that would be a great turn up-
me "Helen i've booked us a week in ibiza for the closing"
Helen "no way, so have i. great minds think alike"
i don't think this conversation is going to happen but wouldn't that be great. i've booked 3/10-10/10.

I booked our hotel and then just brought it up. Mentioned there was plenty of time to cancel... As soon as the idea is planted there is no way you're not going.

Two years ago we went 4 closings and booked our hotel on booking.com 3 months before ( no advanced payment )

Two weeks before we checked the site on a friday ( their promotional day ) and it was at a lower price

So book your hotel but don't forget to check booking before your trip

Been noticing the prices getting lower on booking.com due to the exchange rate improving. The place we booked is nearly £10 cheaper from when we booked it 2 weeks ago. Not an earth shattering amount, but if it keeps going that way!

It doesn't really matter what your confirmation price says (if it's in GBP £) since you'll pay locally when you arrive in € Euros.

I expect the price hasn't changed at all - just the exchange rate.

The exchange rate is certainly proving interesting at the moment...

I won't claim to be any kind of economy expert. But do those who are more informed think the rate will continue to increasing favour the £, or will it stabilise?

Contemplating paying for accommodation in full now as current rate is so favourable.

Imagine if the exchange rate improved that much that drinks in clubs were classed as reasonably priced? No, I don't think it will either.

Only thing to watch out for is UK election in May - could see weaker pound if there is no clear majority which looks likely. Who is to say how much it will weaken v euro though as Greek exit up for debate again in June or July anyway.
