just got back from ibiza, feeling the need to go again. My husband and i have fancied going in winter for sometime so hey lets do it ! Its going to be a surprise for my hubby so im wanting to know the best month.I was thinking of end of march, found flights for about £100.Has anyone got any info as to best place to stay, best month and things to do.I have visions of deserted beaches cosy romantic bars ect.Any input would be great. Thanks

I think February / March is when the island turns white with almond blossom - would love to see it. I've visited April to October over the years and out of season is superb. No queuing, quiet roads, less bars and restaurants available but much better service and people actually have time to talk to you !

pick any month of six. winter is fab in ibiza. the limitation is of course the choice of hotels as only a few are open thru the year. have a look at our accom section to get an idea and the fantastic rural hotels are all open all year with really good winter room rates. march is a ggod month as it's getting quite warm by day, the island is lush, green and covered with flowers and the nights are still log fire chilly.

thanks for your replies.March it is then,i never thought of staying at a rural hotel i was thinking of ibiza town. Rural sounds great and with a car we could go everywhere! The trouble with summer months is we plan to do so much but its so hot we end up doing very little.Im going to book the flights now ,dont know if i will be able to keep this as a surprise for so long.

as it happens stephen im not wasting any time.Four hotels have caught my eye,Can Guillem ,Can Marquet,Casa Nova and Can Arabi. They look nice and are within my price range.Im sure they are all great but could you please give me a clue as to the best for us.We will definatly hire a car i love ibiza town but i suppose it doesnt matter where we stay if we have transport.we are in our forties love eating and im a bit partial to vodka. Will probably stay 5 nights for lots of reasons cash being one of them. thanks for your help

cant believe it just booked flights , coming over 21st march poor credit card taken a hammering.Got to keep this a surprise, its our wedding anniversery end of August that would be a good prezzy then his prezzy to me could be he will pay for hotel LOL.

well done. you'll love it. don't ask me to make a decision on the hotel for you..........however can marquet would be my choice for its position. it's easy walking distance to santa gertrudis - which has lots of bars cafes and restaurants and is not that far to ibiza town

sorry stephen you have made my decision for me.It sounds great.IM gona book it although not quite yet,im hopeing it doesnt get full in march.

I had a look around Can Guillem in May and it has been "done up" very well by two guys I have known for many years. However, it has no restaurant - meals are ordered in for you and is very quiet, too quiet for me. Has a small pool with a nice surround and if you can afford a bungalow rather than a room you should be ok. All the rooms are essentially decorated in black and white and with the thick stone walls should provide warmth in winter and cool in summer.
Not for me though.

thanks for that Tony.I quite fancy the location of that hotel though.I imagine its going to be pretty quiet everywhere that time of year, having said that i do like having some people arond.Any thoughts you might have on a good place to stay please pass them on.Thanks again

The S'Argamassa Palace is open all year between Es Cana and Santa Eulalia

I've been in and looked around and it seems ok but not sure if it's open when you want - I can call in next week and ask if you are interested in certain dates and check out prices.
