Just found out from a mate Ryan Air are not doing winter flights this year. He has just had an email cancelling his December flight back to England.
Has anyone heard anything?
Regards
Peter

if ture thats a real body blow.thought they was doing well with those flights.seems to me ibiza gets more and more cut off over the winter.i feel sorry for locals who wish to fly to uk to see family or friends

I must admit I am surprised. I went out a couple of times last winter as did a lot of people I know and the flights always seemed busy. I tried to book a winter flight earlier and it is not letting me. Bad news

definate

i got an email yesterday as well cancelling 8 flights that i had booked... the route was busy all the time and they were talking about expanding from other airports now this !!!!! no explanation or offer of other uk route.. it is gonna cost me 3 times more to go via barcelona and 4 hours more each way.

we heard yesterday and were saying pretty much the same thing. everyone we know who used them said they were full. on the other hand my wife will still use the ibiza/palma/liverpool manchester option to travel as it knocks about 8 hours off the journey (if not more) via ryanair's chosen uk airport in the middle of nowhere.

ryanair are morons!!!! why do this!???! there goes my cycling trip in a few months... :x

what is the next easiest/cheapest/quickest way to get there from the UK??

cheers.. :)

aer lingus to barcelona and then ryanair to ibiza and the same back is looking like the only option available now.. still pretty cheap at around £90!!

Be Carefull..........

Ryanairs version of Barcelona is a completely different one to Aer Lingus........in fact they are different airports!

You would think that an Island so heavily reliant on Tourism, would have its own airline that would create indigenous jobs and bring tourists to the Island off season to help hotels and ancillary businesses. Even one or two planes would help the situation......

But that would take creative thinking by the local government I suppose...............

Anyone know if Air Berlin still do flights via Mallorca (still listed on Spotlight flights info page)? (do you stay on the plane or have to change?)

Last time we came in winter we flew Iberia from Heathrow via Barcelona, but it was expensive, took all day, and due to a delay leaving LHR (lots of passenger recounts!) we had about 20 minutes to run from one end of Barcelona airport to the other for the connections (seemed like about 2 km!).

yes air berlin still fly to ibiza. you have to get off at palma and then get back on again as i understand it - even though it is the same plane.

my wife reckons that eJ to bcn and ryanair to ibz is a good option
