The White Island Music Festival, which was held so successfully in Punta Arabí last year, will take place early in September, although this time it will be held at the Sant Pere stronghold in Dalt Vila, very close to the Reina Sofia park. Several groups, soloists and DJs have already expressed their interest in participating and it is hoped that the event will just be the second of an annual concert which will unite major rock artistes. Last year"s edition continued for eight hours, with groups popular in London, Barcelona and also Ibiza performing in front of a knowledgeable and appreciative audience.

WHITE ISLAND MUSIC FESTIVAL​

The second of Ibiza's very own ROCK FESTIVAL The White Island Music Festival will take place on 7th September 2013 in a new location this year in Ibiza Town, and promises to be an unforgettable experience.

For its second year, the festival takes place in the wonderful location of Baluarte de Sant Pere in Dalt Vila, Ibiza Town, which is a UNESCO World Heritage site. Constructed in 1555 the Bastion of Sant Pere is perched within the defensive walls of the old city, and offers wonderful views looking down on the city and the hills beyond.

Ibiza is renowned for its electronic and house music scene but this festival wants the white isle to be remembered for its contribution to rock and alternative music as well.

This year's lineup again brings together up-and-coming musicians and bands who are independent from major labels and driven by a pure rock and roll spirit to create original music.

The second edition of the White Island Music Festival will be held this year on the 7th of September and the organizers have chosen the Sant Pere bastion in Dalt Vila, with its magnificent views. Last year"s event took place in Punta Arabí and was extremely successful; the festival aims to provide a platform for new talent in the rock music scene from all over the world. None of the artists are well known to the general public or backed by famous recording companies but they will be given a unique opportunity to play their music in front of an audience. One of the groups which has accepted the invitation is "Burning Bridges" from London. Recently they have had great success on the net and are preparing to launch their first record. Another British group is "Lost Podenco" from Liverpool who offer more melodic music.

The second edition of the White Island Music Festival took place yesterday at the Baluard de Sant Pere in Dalt Vila, which is a great location for concerts.

Pixie Ramsey couldn't make it and we missed the Ibiza based Lost Podenco and Hot Ice, which hopefully there'll be plenty of opportunities to see in the future, but we arrived in time for Plum, Burning Beaches and The Black Tambourines... cool bands all of them, especially Burning Beaches!

People continued the night at the revamped Grial (the official after-party) and/or at the reopening of Demiedo, which after a summer as a Coyote-style bar is back to the rock music...
