Which resort to go to? PDB OR San AN?

hi there, im new to the forums and to ibiza, its my first time, so please be gentle. lol.

anyway, im stuck in choosing which resort to go to. ive done some research on playa d'en Bossa and very little on San antonio bay. I would like to know which resort out of the two has the best clubbing scene, bars and a beach? ad not forgetting girls too. im inclined to go to Playa d'en bossa but others say that san an bay is far better. Im totally confused. i need to book my holiday by the end of next week, and depart on the 20th july 08 for 7 nights with two mates. any recommended aprtments or hotels out there? budget of £1500 for the 3 of us.

any help will be much appreciated

PDB has a nicer beach i would say but as a resort there isnt alot there , its quite basic.Obviously Space is a big draw plus is close to DC10 and Ibiza Town . Its much less British than San An . We stay there over San An but theres arguents on both sides. What about a villa?
 
pbd also has bora bora beach bar.top music on the beach.plenty of bars in pdb.much more european not just full of brits.so you would really enjoy it more mixing with other people from all over the world..

try a site for private appts may suit you better than a hotel or aptts.


if not try jett appts

plus pdb is nearer airport right on its doorstep.so you cheaper taxi.i would go for pdb.mine you thats just me.i use it has a basecamp

If your not going for clubbing i wouldnt stay at either of them . If you are Id stay in PDB or Figuretas , theres loads of basic , cheap apartments to stay in . We got a deal at the Dausol apartments in PDB . The Poseidon apartments are pretty cheap too
 
Ibiza Virgin! Help!

I'm in pretty much the same position! I'm an ibiza virgin :oops: & need some1 2 lead me by the hand b4 i make a big mistake and ruin my 1st Ibiza experience!

Planning on going first 2 weeks in Sept 08! I have intended on booking San An/San An Bay coz naively I thot this was the MAIN spot 2 b, obviously not! (PDB!!!) Im intending on getting round all the biggest clubs during the 2weeks, but am looking forward 2 the strip, Cafe Mambo etc!

Would it be easier to stay in San An & travel to PBD for big nites out, or vice versa?!

Basically I want to stay in an area NOT chavvy & not too British, handy (enough) to the big clubs, where i can get a few trips to Mambo etc, and where can i dance on a beach? (Bora Bora? Give me the lowdown on it!)

Any help would be NICE!:)
 
Im in the same boat aswell.Ive been to Ibiza before and stayed in San An Bay,loved it. But more so because it was close to the sunset strip than the West End.

We didnt explore the other side of the island at all last time.Were definetley going to go to Pacha etc,But we were planning on just going over ti Ibiza town for the night.Now im having second thoughts about staying in San Antonio Bay

I've stayed in the Bay for the last two years. The key is to rent a car. I drive all over the island and find that it is a great place to use as a base.
 
When i went to Ibiza for the first time in June 2007, we stayed in San Antonio Bay, which we thought to be a well good location. I have to say when we were there i dont recall seeing that many chavs going around, plenty british folk though.

it seems theres some big love/hate thing going on with opposite sides of the island? I've only been to the one side so i cant comment or really put up much of an argument, but i ouldnt say an is as bad as most folk make out. the main area we were in was clean and tidy, some backstreets were pretty rank though i must admit.

Anyway this year i head back in june again and were going to visit PDB and see if its 'all that'. Ive been warned about pacha and its apparent style ****s!

we'll see what happens.....
 
I wouldn't stay in the bay unless your on an EXTREMELY tight budget. Its full of families and couples. Stay in San An town or PDB.

Personally after finally having stayed in both, Id be inclined to go for San An all the time now. I found PDB to be a bit of a dump to be honest. Didnt feel like I was in Ibiza. Bora Bora can be good, but its hit and miss.

If your not really the Judge Jules type of clubber, you will spend more on taxis staying in San Antonio but i think its worth it as its a much nicer town (the west end gets a bad rep but its not as bad as its made out and also easily avoidable).
 
I personally like Judge Jules, Marcel woods etc, so its suits me to be in that area of the island, if i want to travel i can no problem. just preference i suppose.

not on a tight budget this year, we booked same hotel as last which as it was perfect, the bahia, 500bones its cost us for the week.

It really depends on what you're looking for and what DJs you wanna hear... Those are some of the major differences. You're an Ibiza virgin and one week is only the beginning... make sure to check out both regardless of where you stay... and then, next year (or later this year) when you choose to go back, you will know which place is better for you...

Exactly, you're never gonna do evertything you want, in a week, but I guarantee you'll be back next year, to try and do the rest (impossible :lol:).

I've gotta agree about PDB for the same reasons, but think maybe San An might be better for your first visit, as everything there is so obvious and close by.

I just booked a hire car £116 for the week, bargain! that way you can get to
the best beaches and see other parts of the island, not being stuck in one place.
 
I love San Antonio!!! I've been to Ibiza many, many times and yet I always find something new in the town. There are two or three streets that are gaudy British places at night but during the day there is more than enough to find out about (everything from watersports to ancient history). In the bay you have Kumharas which is cooler then Mambo's, Cafe del Mar etc. and gives you a sense of the real Ibiza. There are also many wonderful places to eat in San Antonio town. Great food at very reasonable prices. Up to you but I would go for San Antonio or the bay....
 
i personally find san ant far too british and far too chavvy. Okay i'm british myself but the way i see it is, anything you can do in san antonio, you can do back here in britain (the sunset bars being an exception), so to me it seems, whats the point in goin on hol?
pdb feels more holiday like, you get to meet different people and see the real ibiza with bora bora and space, something you dont see every saturday night back in britain :-)
 
Would it depend on music choice as well. Is Space and Bora Bora more of a House scene, as oppose to my prefference Trance :)

Which one has the better club scene? The clubs in San antonio look good too! AAAAAHHHH decisions decisions decisions!

My musical preferences: I pretty much love it all! I love techno, trance, house, hip hop, funk, break beat...whatever! I'm probably a bigger trance and techno fan than a house fan, but as long as there's music, ill find a way to enjoy myself!!!!!

not sure how much the preferences help, but any advice would be great...o ya, the cheaper the hotel the better! gotta save for those hefty covers!
 
thanks for the input guys. ive booked it. flying from stansted on 20th july for 7 nights and staying at the poniente apartments in san antonio

Its really not going to matter much which resort you chose in that case because the clubs are scattered around. Privellige and Amnesia are in San Rafael, Space is in Playa d'en Bossa and Pacha is in Ibiza town. Use the taxis and club buses.
