quick question- been going to ibiza last fews years usually during opening or closing season
we have stayed in both playa den bossa and san an. unfortunately this year i can only get time off from work right in the middle of peak season (end of july).
i know that time of summer is going to be really busy so don't fancy the craziness/ busyness of those two resorts, want to be able to chill/ bit of peace during the day, yet still close enough to the clubs for the night time (don't mind short taxi ride)

is figueretes next best place? or what would you recommend? with it being peak season its a lot more expensive than we usually go, so budget is not great...

Figueretes is perfect in my eyes. Close enough to the action of Ibiza Town & Playa d'En Bossa, but equally far enough away to chill and soak up the sun during the days.

thanks, thats exactly what I'm looking for.
is there much around figueretes if we fancy a night off and just want to have dinner and few quiet drinks?

There's some great restaurants. And regular water taxis in either direction along the coast which are very reasonable. I always like the walk back from Ibiza Town as well of an evening when it's cooler. There's a few bars - although nothing that stays open very late with a "lively" vibe. That said, closest to mid-season I have stayed there is 1st week of July. May be different come the end. Coolture just on the bend by the promenade is okay for pre-drinks (and to grab your tickets if needs be). Feels more cosmopolitan than both PdB &, obviously, a lot more than San An. Generally older crowd, more families, more Germans too - none of those are bad points in my eyes.

I think Figueretas would fit the bill too.

@w_i_c, interesting what you say about San An,when I was there last October I think I heard more Dutch and German spoken than English...

Really? That does surprise me. Although my visits to San An nowadays pretty much only consist of the West End, the sunset strip & a maybe popping to worker's apartments, so I am far from an authority on the matter.

Yep, the stereotypical views aren't always correct, especially in early and late season.(this is true of other resorts also)
Going to places other than your usual haunts would make a difference I suppose.

(sorry for hijacking thread)
