Where would you go if you didn't go to Ibiza?

I tend to make Ibiza/Formentera first choice, if I can't get the right priced accommodation of Formentera (or the flight home's too early meaning there's no chance of a ferry!!) then I'm happy to stay in Ibiza. Even pop over if I've just a couple of full days holiday.

But the biggest plus is I don't like to spend too long on an aircraft, so Ibiza is the furthest south I can get in 2.5 hrs!!

Often though of alternatives, for a change, or if Ibiza became too expensive, whatever.

Never been to Minorca but it looks like it would suit me, small, easy to get around by bus, long beaches including nude sections. Thought of Malta and also Gibraltar for a complete change of scenery yet on the Med and within 3 hrs flying.

Notice they are all islands (OK< Gib's attached to Spain but it's almost an island!!) so I think there's a theme - wonder if anyone else prefers islands for holidays over the mainland?

Anyhow, your alternatives - and where would clubbers go??

Yes have been a few times.still reminds me of Barcelona 20yrs ago...parts of the city are like Amsterdam in the sun..

I haven't pencilled Ibiza in this year but I will be going away twice.

Amsterdam in May
Rome - Milan - Turin (Kappa Music Fest) in July

Clubbing wise I would go to festivals around Europe, Much cheaper than paying Ibiza prices and new places to visit.

Bar Ibiza, my most visited place is the dam... Otherwise I'd generally go to random European cities, not necessarily for clubbing. Since discovering Ibiza, every other Med resort looks a bit rubbish, with the exception of places where there's a bit of culture, authenticity and good food (like Malaga, but not its outlying resorts).

It's beautiful, yes. A lot to see between mountains and beaches, and one of the most preserved coast of Mediterranean sea.
Lovely food, architecture...
But forget the clubbing, except for the festival "Calvi on the Rocks".

I would go to sleep.

Went to Sardinia for the first time last summer for a long weekend. Brilliant food, nice beaches and pretty Italians :)

Can't really go wrong.

Fuerteventura is lovely for a more chilled holiday. Would recommend Correlejo as a bit more lively with nice bars, shops and restaurants. The sand dunes are incredible and the water is beautiful.

To party I love Amsterdam and Barcelona. Sonar week is brilliant and you can just do the OFF week parties instead of the actual festival, there's plenty on.
