Where To Stay

Hi

I am looking at getting a villa for about 12-15 of us and one thing I need to work out is location.

A lot of the best villas seem to be a bit out in the sticks, in San Jose for example and we will be spending much of our time in clubs and bars around Ibiza Town/Playa Den Bossa.

Do you think this is going to be a major problem, as we don't really want to hire cars...is it easy to get villas near the action?

Thanks
James

without a car, yes it could be a problem unless you fork out for taxi's alot. you do need a car chuck. Of course there are a few in the ibiza town area, but the nice country ones are usually wel... in the country!! x

welcome back monkey boy.

let's think about this should we? if you had a million bucks to buy a villa you wouldn't want 2000 gimps as your neighbours would you?

that's why most people buy them in the sticks.

I've seen a few villas for rent around San Rafael and Jesus. I think that's about as close as you'll get to Pdb and Ibiza Town, respectively. They aren't the set-apart-from-other-people-so-you-can-throw-big-parties types of homes though. They're usually in developed neighborhoods.

interestingly villas in the south san rafael area are considerably cheaper than anywhere else on the island (apart from san miguel) because they suffer from disco blite. who wants to buy a villa there with that din going on all night for 3 months of the year?

on the subject of villa parties i'll never forget the startled like rabbits in headlights look on the faces of some germans who'd rented the house next to us when the wifey went steaming in during an 11 am trance party to tell them exactly what she thought of them.

if you've ever met the wife you'll know why i never have 11 am trance parties!

james,

as has been mentioned you can look for villas in areas like sant jordi, jesus and puig d'en valls, which are close to ibiza town.

or even places near cala llonga and santa eularia where you may pay a little more for taxis but the villa will prob cost less

i booked a great villa near cala dhort opposite es vedra and very isolated, but beautiful.

there was no bus and the taxis did not know where it was as it was down a dirt track for about a mile, hence i had to drive for the whole holiday (boyfriend was recovering from broken leg, friend on a ban and another no licence)

my advice would be to go for near san rafael or san jose as they had good bus services. san jose has its own cab rank too which is handy as you can call it direct

anyway have a fab time whatever you decide.
