Hey people. Who knows of a good shop on the island to pick up some jamon & chorizo?

Preferably local produce, of course.

Would any of the big supermarkets do (don't recall seeing it in the little Spars) or are there any good specialized shops?

most spars sell it.which resort you staying in.and the big supermarkets sell it.best to have it wrapped well if your bringing it home.the smell can be over powering.

the spar next to burger king in pdb sells it.and the consum supermarket near ibizarocks hotel sells it.

Eroski on the san jose - evissa road has a large selection of stuff in the back left corner. one of the joints was biggest ive ever seen too i doubt i could lift it!

I'd actually thought about that place as I'm heading to San Jose this evening. Good call.

It's between Espanya and Macabich, can't remember the street name....might be Extremadura ?

Edit: yes it is

Dont get local produce of Jamon Iberico by the way, I doubt they even have local pig farms near the med?

The best Jamon Iberico comes from Salamanca and central Spain, were the air is dry enough for the ham to cure properly.

Jagubo or Pata Negra is what you should go for!

You're right, Ferd. Not produced locally.

I got 2 different kinds - Iberico and another sort. All from Salamanca, I think. Good stuff. Also a stick of chorizo.

Anyone know how long the ham will keep once it's been sliced?

I went to the Nuevo Mercado in Ibiza Town.

I'd love that place if I lived here. The butchers looked especially inviting.
