havent been inside, but nina hagen used to live there, and she spoke about the hotel in the short movie they shot there "ninas nacht", which was crap, but they showed the hotel, and this was fantastic stuff!! 8) ...she was sleeping in the room "james dean"

and this is c. conquista. as usual there are some tourists outside having a look to the walls
of the hotel where you can see the hands of some of the famous persons who stayed there

Maybe it's because I'm German and I'm not too fond of being in all German company, to me El Palacio is a nightmare. I mean the location is beyond perfect and the garden is beautiful, but inside it's pure kitsch. Whenever I have friends coming over and there's no space left at my place I book them in at La Ventana, El Corsario or Torre del Canonigo but never at El Palacio.

Oh I definitely would, but the hostals are always booked out . You can't imagine how often I've been down on my knees begging Carmen from Hostal Navarro in Calle de la Cruz to make an exception but no, she says ocupado is ocupado.

yeah it's pure kitsch all right. i had a tour of the place once, and all the rooms we like some saddo nerdfan of monroe dean etc from 80s UK had been let loose as the interior designer. nice garden, nice spot but a joke really. i was v rude about it in my guide...

LOL, yeah, apart from Nina Hagen it's all German C-list celebs. The British equivalent would probably include Jordan, Jade Goody and maybe Sadie Frost . Speaking of Jordan, did you guys know that in Germany she is still "Katie Price"?
