The shape of the cave looks just like the one I photographed just to the south of the beach at Aguas Blancas. You can walk there from the beach - through the shallow water and around a rock outcropping.

That said, it also rather looks like a cave we took a boat to on the West Coast not far from Atlantis.

Have you clicked on it for a bigger picture to check out the further clue ??? Should make it easier ...

It could be a place I haven't been to for about 12 years, never seen it from the sea. Slightly north of San An, last time I went it had been secured with barred gates but there was a cave the hippies used to use for shelter, full of old wall paintings in a 'cave man' style and back in the days before that, you could walk in to it and people had always left candles and water for the next visitor!
It was a rickety old path that got you there, full of fishermen coming and going! I used to snorkel from the bottom of the path.
But then, it might not be that one!

Is it the 'smugglers cave'?

?? which smugglers cave is that ??

Good thinking, but no cigar ...

from what I remember, down the slope past the cave paintings there are petrified tree stumps, bit boring to most probably and not easy to spot but literally tree stumps that have turned to solid stone, millions of years old I guess. If anyone wants to try and find them, they were on the left of the path as you walk down, I once thought about trying to get one out of the ground but I think that would be sacrilege after millions of years

Never noticed those - must be more observant !! Maybe a good plan for a day out with the kids to check they're still there ?

Such a distinctive and imposing piece of rock art ? Someone surely must know where it is ...
