What's so good about Pacha

I'm sorry about this but I am a pretty seasoned clubber and have being doing this stuff longer than some of the folks on this forum have been alive and I just don't get Pacha.

Can someone please tell me what is so good about this club please.

speaking from personal experience I went to release yourself opening party in 2004. thought the interior was pretty amazing/unique but wasnt too impressed. It didnt get terribly full.
In 2005 I went to Pure Pacha with Bob Sinclar and Pete tong in late july. It was one of the best nights I can remember clubbing. Great music, friendly people, amazing atmosphere.
I don't know I guess it is hard to put my finger on one thing that makes it amazing. Its the experience I guess

Apart from about 80% of the crowd (which is a general problem in almost any club in Ibiza / worldwide) and the Flower Power parties (sell out) EVERYTHING is great about Pacha. How can anyone who likes clubbing and Ibiza and has a decent sense of style not love Pacha?

When I read the question and started thinking about why I love, no, adore Pacha I couldn't quite put it in words. Why it's so great for me: It's PACHA!!!

It has house music playing in there. That'll do for me

Just how old are you? I was born in 1864 and started going out clubbing in 1880. Beat that!

bit up its own @rse i reckon

Thats what I kinda thought. A bit like the 80% of the crowd mentioned earlier.

It's just another club to me. I seen or heard nothing to make it "special"

Maybe i'm just past it. Maybe I just don't like pretention. Maybe, just maybe, thier are too much "label" hussy's who are sucked in by the whole thing.

I fail to see why the decor is talked about so much or maybe I just got there too late to see past the black walls and overcrowded bar and dancefloor areas. Also seemed like too much of the club is given over to VIP's (I'm guilty of that one but it was my honeymoon).

Still I could be convinced. Anyone else care to enlighten me

thats a pretty decent and honest question, ive been to ibiza 8 times in 9 years and Pacha is the one club that really stands out for me. as previous people have said, its hard to say excatly what it is about Pacha. but 70% of djs will tell u it is the club they enjoy playing at most, the other 30% will say Space. for me, the reasons are is that it is quite simply the most beautiful club in the world, the candle lights are everywhere, the roof top terrace is so unique its untrue, the sound system is very good, not the best but still very good, the clientel they get in there and A list celebrities say alot too about it. plus they have 6 of the best nights nites in the ibiza season in there, which says it all, no other club in ibiza can compare with the nites they have, u just cant beat release yourself, defected, subliminal, f*** me im famous, pure pacha and def mix, and renaissance. the other clubs do have one off awesome nites like cocoon, cream, we love, azuli, circo loco but nothing on the level as pacha, and they get the BEST of the BEST djs there too. if you love house music, Pacha is the place to be any of the above nites i mentioned. only down point is the price of drinks.

this is only my opinion so im sure others will agree or disagree :D

... what is so good about this club ...

pacha made ibiza (under nightlife-aspects) - its an important part of nightlife history.

i like the imagination that since around a million years (since the 70s)
people are coming together to dance and have fun in the same building.
... and which other club in the world keeps on running for such an amazing
long time (f.e. the original studio54 had to close after only a few months) !

... and i like pacha-boss ricardo urgell for what he says about ibiza,
its development and the terrible "autopista":

the island is undergoing a massive modernisation programme.
are you excited or frustrated by what you see and around the roads ?

"...
i think its horrible.

i believe they are destroying the magic of the island.

this means to be at the same level as the mainland,
which has beeen destroyed fromm north to south.

i have known a primitive, beautiful spain
and now there are only appartments and roads.

in ibiza we were isolated by the sea,
we should have respected the island with its essence.

what they are doing is breaking the future.

i am completely against the roads.

I see where I may be falling down here. I love music, not just house but all different types of music. I prefer the music played in other nights on the island (Garlands for one) and to be honest was bored after 30 minutes of Pete Tong during Pure Pacha and David Guetta playing for Def Mix a couple of weeks backs did nothing for me.

Enjoyed sitting upstairs and talking to people (guess thats the old bit of me coming out again) and much preffered the laid back feel here.

I guess I will just have to give up on this one and accept that whatever was there has now passed me bye.

ENDNOTE: How the hell am I going to survive the Tidy Weekender as I can just about cope with the Hard House stuff but 3 whole days. ARRRGGHH

I... mmm... don't like Pacha that much.

I am very much a Space/DC10 or Amnesia person. Those clubs have a more human feel, Pacha is too... much I guess, for me.

I think the same. Well... I think Pacha is GORGEOUS, but that's all. Lots of shallow people who worry more about their outfit than a real clubbing experience. I don't mean everyone there is shallow of course, but most of them are for sure. One of my worst clubbing experiences in Ibiza was Pure Pacha 4 or 5 years ago. Sasha was playing great music, but the crowd didn't live up to it. Terrible! Pacha is much better off season actually.

I think without a doubt Pacha consistently has the best promoters during the week, pretty much every year - they have the quality music, classier crowd and general upmarket vibe. I've had some fab nights at Pacha. Saying that however, i only really go there about 5 or 6 times a season (over 5 months out here). When i go out clubbing, i prefer to get in there amongst it (ie. dance and get sweaty), and at Pacha i've never felt the energy like i do at other clubs. For example, my favourite clubs - Space and Amnesia - are real clubbing venues and where i've had my best Ibiza parties !Can't knock the music policy at Pacha though ! Armand van Helden was at Renaissance last Thursday (i missed it - bah !).Cheers,Dan

Id rather be at a beach party in shorts with a bag of beers from the shop than Pacha . Much prefer the laid back style of CircoLoco or daytime at space or a party in the hills or something .

It's got a lovely restaurant and a nice interior.

Would you like to know anything else? Or are you on a 'my opinion is better' mission?

Agreed it's not a place to go for a reeeeally good night out, it's just a posh Ibiza institution, enjoy it as that...or...errrr go to Amnesia which is generally better.

As I said Robder I wish I had been there early enough to see the interior better.

No mission just confused as to what my feelings were but as it seems I am not alone. And I guess the fact they had something against my kilt (or skirt as they called it) did not help as a 1st impression.

My opinion is just that. However, I do think that Pacha has a OTT reputation. I guess it's all about what you want in a club and at my age. Friendliness, a place to sit every now and then, and room to move are more important factors to me.
