What town should I stay in for a first timer?

Well, Im almost ready to book my trip to IBIZA....YAY!! But I do have one more question:

What town would any of you veterans consider PRIME location (meaning short walk or taxi to the better clubs) preferably in an area with the least amount of sound at night to get a good nights sleep...i was reading some reviews of hotels on the island and it looked like some hotels were very close to traffic and other people, making it very noisy at night. I appreciate everyones honesty an input on this site so far :) So, any ideas??
 
or figurettas, just along from PDB with slightly nicer beach, better places to eat, quieter hotels and lots and lots of german homosexuals
