What is the best way to travel from place to place in Ibiza?

This year I plan on staying in the San Antonio Bay area but would like to make trips to Las Salinas / Sa Trinxa and Ibiza Town. For cheap fares, should I take a bus, taxi, or just try to hitchhike :) ? I've also got to find a relatively cheap way to get to/from the airport. Any comments?

I'm still considering staying in Ibiza town again but I've been told that in order to get the full Ibiza vibe I've really got to hit more of the San Antonio scene. So I'll probably be staying in San Antonio / San Antonio Bay area.

Any comments will be appreciated.

Thanks,

If you're staying in Sant Antoni the bus is a (relatively) easy and cheap way to get to Ibz Town. You can get a 2nd bus from Ibiza town to Salinas. Buses can get very busy in peak season though. Watch out you don't miss the last one back from Salinas due to it being so crowded. My advice is to hire a car for a few days. You really get the opportunity to explore the island then. ;)

yes. In ibiza, the car, bus, bike and any other form of transport has yet to be invented. Therfore you must walk everywhere no matter how far it is.

However, on arriving in Ibiza you are issued with a leather sole. You attach this to your foot to aid you in your walking. Therefore no other form of transport is needed.
