What do you all think about?

DJs that vary their "sound" throughout a set that allows them enough lead way to work their way from house 2 breaks 2 the proggy/trancey stuff? (FOR EXAMPLE)

Do you think DJs should just stick to the same genre for their entire set & try 2 build up the one "sound" or do you prefer 2b surprised with the unexpected?

Is a "cutting edge" DJ someone who soley plays the "latest and greatest" tracks or do you like 2 hear some of your "golden oldies" mixed in there also?

The very curious discoplayer

There's nothing more boring than a predictable dj. An element of surprise is always a good thing in my opinion.

I think a DJ should be able to vary their set to suit the crowd. They should be able to play and lift them, shake them about abit and then bring them back to what they know. :D

It all depends on the crowd and what they expect/don't expect and how the DJ reacts to that. DJ's that play nothing but the same drum patterns all night are in my opinion boring. Let's have a bit of variety.

Oldies are all well and good but you can't play them all night.... But for getting the crowd going, you can't beat an 89 track with the current stuff.

I play mainly prog but feel breaks and techno slip into sets very nicely indeed.

Variation is a very good thing, and a way of keeping things fresh.

Its always good to take your set through diffrent stages as i do takes the crowed on a journey and your never stoped at the same boaring pace ect.

I kinda like to play progressive then more uplifting trance.

I once did a 15 minuit breaks mix into rpogressive into trance into hard trance in a 4 hour set never fails with listners !!!!
