i guess you really have to see it in person but not hugely impressed by the pictures tbh. The colours are too loud and clash with the traditional street aesthetic. When you commission an artist you should hire someone who would come up with cool murals, but this feels like a children’s nursery. Kudos to him though for trying something different and to them for trying to improve the area’s appeal

I think it looks horrendous, but my kids would love it. Can’t knock the Mayor for trying to improve business in the area.

I'm not a fan of the art per se, but you could make a strong argument for saying the West End suffered through broken window theory in the past and slowly but surely, each year it is looking that bit more presentable. More bars are moving out, more restaurants moving in. Still a long way to go

I guess it depends on the marketing. If you consider Brighton in England has artier areas such as the Lanes barely 5 minutes walk from the human dystopia known as West Street, maybe the Spanish authorities are counting on there being room for a similarly diverse social clientele?

If they want something more presentable, then perhaps go for something recognisably stylish and mid to upper market. Instead they've gone for cheap, screaming colours. It's as if a 5 year old got AI to make the colour scheme.

imo any change is a good change for the west end place just feels rough and outdated.

I'm gonna stick my head above the parapet here and say I like it! Nightmare to maintain and will probably look a mess after a few weeks of summer, but for now...it is an improvement, no?
