West End drinks

Just returned after a lovely week in the Bay as per usual always venture over to the west end to wander around do a little shopping grab a nibble and have a few beverages
Enjoyable experience as always and the fountain area always lovely to chill out and just watch the world pass by........but after a few beverages up the west end I expected to be half wiped " to my surprise I dandered around sober as a judge is the drink as bad as I thought bottle beer fine ..spirits I felt were of a very dubious proof I should have been rockin & rollin what I drank not walking back to the Bay for midnight stroll ?
 
Some people saying last year that they felt seriously ill for days after drinking spirits in the West End. Obviously no proof, but possibly some of what is being sold isn't what it is made out to be.
 
I found it's 6e for a pint of vodka and mixer. You know what the reps offer you to get bums on seats.

Anyhow if you go in directly and order vodka mixer you get a smaller glass but better vodka I found.

I was one of them mate... I'm always controlled when I drink, so I know it was not due to excessive alcohol... I'd like to think that my drink was spiked rather then the bars serving dodgy spirits
 
6 barcardi & colas a few San Migs west end not much of a buzz
Same order in hotel in Bay half wired !
Something not right there it's all in the " Proof"
Nice litle Spanish bar just up from fountains great tapas and Spirits to knock you're block off and great prices lovely setting in among the little shops what a find that was Magic !

If you go somewhere that's offering a really cheap drinks package it's probably gonna be really cheap spirits etc, if you ask for Smirnoff / premium brand etc at the bar then I'm sure that's what you'll get in most places but probably cost a little bit more
 
There's loads of bars that sell cheap drinks that are actual alcohol in San an without the need for gracing the west end hill. With margins tighter then ever it wouldn't surprise me of foul play. But as I do love San an I wouldn't spend an evening on 'the strip', I'd have a look about first and then head up later when it's rowdy to reminisce what I looked like when I was young :D

Would that be the bar just before the road ends and the path round to Mambo's begins? If so its a great find, had a few drinks in there last year :)

That sounds like another little watering hole to catch up on ! I think I passed it back road to mambo just opposite a school ? The little spot we visited is nestled in between Mei Ling corner and the Red hotel up a side street ......let's say the Lamb chops looked the business to ha ha but then the days of partying like a loon have past , although this chill out Ibiza is very much the way to recharge batteries, Love it. Find a good measure with good food sorted !
