How Chelsea can play like they did in the 2nd half today and still somehow pull it off is beyond explanation, but I'll gladly take the win!

Goin' to Wembley! :D

The last team to win the FA cup at the old one.... Let's keep the fingers crossed for the new one... (admittedly Man U weren't in it that year). With any luck it'll be a good one and nothing like the 4-0 loss we suffered against them last time David Ellery has to have been the worst ref at an FA cup final ever...

Ugh, I've seen that Man U 4-0 match. Totally fell apart in the 2nd half, if memory serves. I hope it's not like that this time... though we'll have to play a lot better than we did today.

We went to the last FA Cup game at Wembley, Tom wanted to take me and was going to pay silly money for tickets thru touts but I told him not to as it wasn't worth paying £500 for me for a ticket - on the morning of the game he was offered 2 tickets at face value so we got in for £35 each - result :D

Just booked our airline tickets for May 18-20 8)

Now I just have to figure out how to get to Athens, if we by chance need to swing through Greece on the way home

have you got tickets for the final again?
No... we haven't booked anything CL-final related. We figured we might have jinxed the team the past couple of years

No hotel rooms left in Athens though. Not sure what I'll do if we actually get past your lot and make it to the final :?

as if not having a hotel room is an excuse......... :?

btw - you know i was going on about the fine line between success and failure.

case in point - pedersen's header.

Or Joe Cole blasting over from 5 yards with clear site of goal, or Shevchenko kicking the ball in the absolute wrong direction when put clear through by Drogba. Or Essien's massive strike that hit the woodwork. Or Ballack's free kick just inches outside the post.

But yes, point well taken.

no you're missing the point, because that miss (of inches), which would have almost certainly meant failure, meant success became a possibility for you.

as you won it is irrelevant to talk about other times when you would have scored (success) because ultimately you did anyway.

that chance was the key success/failure moment of the game.

I see your point, and I'm not arguing with it.

I'd just add that any of those other incidents could have made it a 90 minute match instead of a 120 minute one.

Also, there were other points when Cech saved which, had he not reached them, would just as easily have resulted in failure (he is a friggin' hero, by the way)

the save from terry's header was good but it was one of them that looked far better than it was.

basically any save when a keeper can get a big hand on it like that is not that spectacular. taking that cross in the final minute, that was spectacular!
