Friday: Early bed
Saturday: london people came to oxford for a day of punting and a bit of sightseeing! FANTASTIC day, much hilarity, very drunken on the punt, all extremely special.

In the evening I went to 333 which was ok - gucci soundsystem were good but it was a bit empty. Place covered in hay :?

Then onto sports rave for a quick dance before going to meet my date a little bit early :?

Sunday: spent morning with my hot brazilian, then secret sundaze late afternoon which was absolutely fantastic - amazing rooftop location in brixton. Music was spot on but crowd starting to get a little odd... Completely broke myself in there and then couldnt' sleep until 6.30 this morning :?:?:?:? so feeling quite delicate at work today.

Most of the above with an added T-bar on thurs.

Punting was absolutely hysterical.

Started off quite high brow but three bottles of pimms later and we were flying through brambles, crashing into neighbouring boats and generally ruining the peace.

Even the souvinir panama hats weren't going to cover up that one. ;)

Coming in to moor at the end was quite possibly the funniest moment of my life...all in front of a massive queue of onlookers.

SS is brilliant this year! They've dropped the mediocre minimal in favour of lovely deep housey grooves. Best club in London (still) by about a million miles. 8)

Wow wow wow :D

Friday - Went to a birthday party for one of Irina's friends at a trendy little DJ cafe/restaurant. Started a bit slow but after a bottle or two of wine it got quite entertaining  We got home just minutes before we had to go to the airport to...

Saturday - ...flew to London, checked into hotel and took a little nap. Went to Camden to find a couple of cheap cowboy hats. Then went to Earl's Court for the Great British Beer Festival. Sampled beers from across this great land... and got absolutely hammered

Met Irina and went to the Coordinated boat pary (wild west themed, thus the cowboy hats). Great tunes from Mark Sun and Anil Chawla :D, and great to catch up with them and Utagaura and Stu Hirst, whom I'd not seen for ages. Irina went home tired, but Ferd, his barry, and the Isle of Wight crew were kind enough to adopt me and take me to the Ministry afterparty where many a shape was thrown and beverage imbibed. Surprisingly quite enjoyed Gabriel & Dresden (how trashed was I?)

Sunday - only managed a couple hours sleep before attending the Chelsea v Birmingham match. GREAT GAME! :D Boring boring Chelsea? HA! Good entertainment, 3 points in the bag, and a new home undefeated record! Several after-match pints enjoyed with our usual crew, but I lost Irina to an upset stomach :?

So, I trekked down to Brixton solo to attend Secretsundaze. What a great time! Cool venue, great music, fun crowd, and the lovely company of the newly-christened embarassing London cousins [(c) Robder ]. James insisted I participate in afterparty shenanigans but after 3 days of drinking and little sleep I was wiped so I headed back to the hotel.

Woke up at 7am this morning (damn jetlag!), so much for sleeping in! Now convalescing in the room while Irina is out shopping.

Boy, still in bits!!
Friday, flew to Dublin, cab to the Morrison, amazing Hotel, was in the Bar by 430, dinner & 3 or 4 pints in Temple Bar, back to the Bar, full on posse going at it, hammered!!
Saturday, woke with a sore head, brekfast in bed, Noon wedding in St Stephens' Green, reception in The Law Society, cracking speeches (the best man was Jon Farris, the Drummer from INXS), full on disco, with suprisingly good music, back to the Morrison Bar, hammered!!
Sunday flew home feeling well sorry for myself!!

Most chilled out one for ages, friday into cheshire to stay with a friend of anna's - her mate is married to the son of a very very senior religious figure8O however is a brilliant bloke, and an athiest to pop!

Sat, back home, saw my fave person in world (joe, my nephew) - now crawling anyway, felt quite emotional! chinese with the family on sat evening.

Yesterday, Kylie exhibition in Manchester followed by a cocktail in new hotel. Consumed by new love affair with ginger ale and rum.

Feel refreshed on monday instead of done in for one, albeit its all shrouded by the death of Tony Wilson - I saw him speak passionately & with humility on all sorts of causes in my time in Manchester, from Kosovo to devolution to pop culture - his intellect, his passion & his selflessness were a genuine inspiration.

soz, i know there is another thread, but my weekend review would not be complete withoutr reference to him.

Was aiming for a chilled one which was going according to plan until last night

Fri- Went for a few drinks in Shoreditch with an old uni mate before getting the tube back to my parents home

Sat- Went up to Leicester for the day to see my Grandparents and cousins and eat lots of Grandma's cooking 8)

Sun - A good friend who we used to party with a lot is going to New York for 6months to pursue her photography career. Went to her leaving drinks at some Brazilian bar in Camden. Quite few Caiphrinhas later my Spanish friend rocked up . Shes a complete party girl and a laugh a minute and an extremely bad influence - was planning to go to a club but ended up first at my place then via a burger at Tinsletown back at hers in Clerkenwell with a bunch of friends drinking and doing lots of silly dancing till 5am this morning. Head is kind of thudding though havent laughed so much in ages

Fri - TCR gang drinks after work with Jon, Bec and Ferdi

Sat - my best friend and her hubby came over to Ealing, had lunch and drinks with them, then at night they took us to the Kew Grill for our wedding present - had an amazing meal washed down with lots of pink champagne :D

Sun - went to the Oval to watch England v India (courtesy of Ferd and his Barry ;)). It was the first time I've been to a cricket match and I absolutely loved it - where else can you legitimately start drinking at 10.30 on a Sunday morning in a civilised environment  The thing that struck me most is how different it is to going to a football match, everyone is drinking solidly for 8+ hours but there is no rucking and everyone is really polite even clapping the opposition, cricket fans are definitely a different breed to football fans  Had a fab day sitting in the sunshine drinking Pimms and waving my 4 and 6 card :lol:

Glad you had a good time Sarah 8)

Saturday: Brilliant evening. Great sets from Anil and Mark as always, where did the time go? :( Before we knew it we were docking again.

Managed to drag morbyd to ministry, but utagaura didnt give in and shot off to her nans, mustve been weird .

What a brilliant night it was at Ministry. Missed Behrouz completely as he was on at 11 or so (WHY??!!!) but caught 1 hour ish of Steve Porter... AMAZING. Id go as far as to say one of the best sets of the year, just the sort of music i like.. plus he had loads of energy and good crowd interaction.

Then off to the main room... like Morbyd said, Gabriel and Dresden were on top form too. Not as trancey as you'd expect, quite tough in places, and proggy in others. Lots of hand in the air tunes, like their mix of Killers. Only down side is they did play loads of their own mixes and choons, but i'll let them off.

Yes, interesting you should say this Ferd - I was raving about him not long ago.

I promised myself I'd catch him next time he played London (but couldn't cope with the Ministry - why can't he play somewhere else!?!? Grrr)...Have you heard 'that' essential mix he did?

If not, try and download it because it was brilliant! Not sure how he managed to cram that many records into 2 hrs tho. 8O

Very talented man.

Oh ya, I forgot that I enjoyed Porter's set as well. Might have to look out for this essential mix...
