Weekend Rundowns!

Friday - Came home from a cracking night at Renaissance at Pacha, attempted to sleep a couple of hours, checked out of hotel and flew to Madrid. We stored our luggage, headed downtown to the hotel and checked in, then went straight to the Prado. Still love that museum (and Goya still rules! :D). Long walkabout then out for a mediocre tapas dinner (bad restaurant choice). Dropped Irina back at the hotel and walked around some more, only to happen upon a huge outdoor party with DJs and dancing in the streets :D :D Turns out we arrived on Pride weekend! Partied until after 2 then went to crash.

Saturday - Slept in a bit, then did some shopping. A little more sightseeing and then over to the parade... turns out it wasn't just Pride weekend, it was EuroPride! People from all over the continent came to town. Best parade ever! :D and half of Madrid - young, old, straight, gay, whatever - were out to watch and support. 8)

We had dinner at a wonderful restaurant near Plaza de Colon. Then Irina went back to crash out but I headed out into the streets for what has to be the largest street party I've ever seen :D Several squares with DJs, live music or drag shows. Bars with tables set up outside all along the downtown street. Every street in the center packed with revellers. Awesome time! Got back to the hotel around 4.

Sunday - Got up, gathered things and headed to the airport for the flight home. Found out the airline had given away our assigned seats  Arrived in Moscow and waited forever for our baggage  Came home, ordered Chinese food delivery, unpacked, returned to reality

Mine was superb and my last one before Ibiza hurrah!!!!

Fri - had 2 of the girls over for a gossip, one has 2 little children & havent seen her for ages, so we got a pizza chilled out and watched a bit of telly

Sat - waxing, chemists, Lakeside for lots of holiday shopping - was complete manic there so many idiots about! But got some lovely bits so thats all that counts. Evening had the girls round got on the rose wine, god I have drunk so much this weekend made up for my teetotal one last week! Crashed out at some point during the night.

Sun - feeling very sorry for myself, tidied up a bit as parents are back Tues, also had to clear a dead bird away that my cat brought in (why do animals always do it when you have company!?)
Watched some telly, saw some of the Diana concert too completely forgot that was on.

I'm becoming quite partial to a Corona now and then ;)

Wine certainly does have a kick, feels like someone kicking you in the head the morning after

Far too excellent a weekend 8O

Friday: Out for a few drinks with work types, then off for a curry then cocktails with my leaving housemate who moved out on saturday. Extremely drunken, but quite hilarious anyway.

Saturday: Woke up disgustingly hungover, so didn't make it to london until around 5pm, meaning I missed the actual gay pride parade. Caught up with some of the gays in soho sq where it was nice to meet spunky monkey. Decided that soho sq was too muddy so danced for a little bit outside the edge bar to the usual funky funky house tracks which was enjoyable, despite the rain.

Then decided that it would be a good idea to go to the end where luciano was playing and it was Mr C's 20th anniversary of DJing or something... ended up going with my friend alex and his mother, which was quite the experience...

Ended up staying on at the end for Jaded which was good fun. Like the music policy there lots I do.

Sunday: Slept all day then trailer trash boat party in the evening. Had FAR too much fun with the trannies on the thames, nearly died laughing several times. Covered in bruises, random cuts etc today. After the boat party went to boombox which was a lot more fun than the last time I went there. Still full of freaks, but it was a giggle.

Woke up at 5.45 this morning to catch the bus to oxford, urgh, feel awful now.

Yep we moved to Ealing about 6 years ago - I like it lots :D Half of Spotlight seems to live or have lived in Ealing

well my weekend was all about the wine too. when i wasn't drinking the stuff i was suffering from a major wineover. friday went to eat at a nice-but-soulless spanish restaurant in canary wharf, then after our civilised night out came home and proceeded to drink more wine until 5am. Got up late, headed into town in search of birthday presents, then on to my friends birthday day/night. great time - loads of fun catching up with old and new friends, then staggered home about 8am after a rather messy party. sunday was a non-event, except finally managed to watch volver, which i LOVE...

:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D/10

(only spoiled by the wineovers and subsequent cirrohsis of one of my vital organs)

Fantastic weekend, one of the best of the year for sure :D

Friday - Went to see legendary rockers The Who in Marlay Park, Dublin, they were fantastic, when you think they've been going so long and still have so much energy and enthusiasm and put on a brilliant show, people of all ages there from 18 to 70 all having a great time, ended up getting bus into town and what was supposed to be a few quiet drinks ended up in a session with a few American chicks from Ohio;)

Saturday - Got home about 7am dying of a hangover, was supposed to get the 9.35am train to Belfast then another Train to Portrush, slept in:oops: and woke up at 12 noon, quickly got my stuff together and got taxi to the train station, nasty train journey when your hungover, about 4 hours later i arrived in Portrush, arrived at thge campsite and just dumped my stuff where my mates tents were, quickly went down the beach where http://www.thebeachparty.co.uk/ was on.

Met all my friends some of who i haven't seen in ages so smiles all around, the Happy Mondays were just coming on so i quickly went to the bar and to the toilet to powder my nose:lol: and listened to the Mondays, they played a great set consisting of their new stuff some of which is really good and of course the classics from yesteryear, crowd loved it, they are well and truly back on form and with the new album released today are hopefully going back to the top.

After the Mondays we took some time out on the beach to chill out and watch people playing beach volleyball, the sun amazingly had come out and everyone was in great forum just sitting around or dancing,it was really cool, after a while Pete Tong came on and he played a fantastic House set, his mixing is top notch and Tongy didn't disappoint, crowd loved it.

Back to the beach more beers, etc, more networking with people from all over Ireland and some English, Spanish and even some Americans having a great time.

9.30PM and time for the main event,BASEMENT JAXX :D my fav band, this was the 6th time ive seen them, and it's safe to say that this was the best ive ever seen them, from start to finish they absolutely tore the place apart, the atmosphere was fantastic, best live act ive seen in years without a doubt, i must upload a video i took when i compress it (file is currently too big for YouTube) they were amazing.

Afterwards we had to hang around as my mates bird went AWOL but turned up eventually, got lost, Felix Buxton and the rest of the Jaxx walked out to their tour bus, i got my photo taken with him and he is a gentleman, sound geezer.

We went back to the campsite which wasn't that big but of course there was a small Rave happening so i got my beers and went straight there and stayed there until 7am talking to people from all over, everyone really friendly, 2 lads came all the way from San Diego for this, how cool is that, they said they are in love with Ireland and had the best time ever.

Next day i got a lift home from a friend and his bird and someone else, on the way we decided to stop and and go see the stunning http://www.northantrim.com/giantscauseway.htm

if there is a nicer piece of scenery in Ireland ive yet to see it, absolutely stunning scenery, if anyone is ever in Ireland go up north and see this, i took loads of photos, we then had a seafood lunch overlooking the cliffs, beautiful setting, then the long drive home.

Top weekend:D
