Why I love living in London:

Ryan Air - 1p each way plus airport tax to Salzburg.
Leave work Friday, get on plane and am settled and eating in a nice restaurant in a few hours.

Last night - leave Salzburg, arrive at Stanstead...straight on train to Liverpool St...number 8 bus drops me directly outside the Bunker - door to door in approx 3 hours! 8O

Cheeky weekend breaks are now the way forward. 8)...and they keep me out of trouble too.

REALLY reccommend a trip to Salzburg for a weekend break - beautiful scenery, loads to do and the modern art museum is amazing. 8O

Really impressed...booking another today. (Ryan Air flights free again till midnight)

Hmmm - must find a way to offset my carbon emissions by planting trees. :?

This is like a game of show and tell isn't it?

(lets go to berlin rob  )

Friday: Caught bus to london to stay at my dads
Sat: Went shopping for a dinner jacket which my dad and his fiance are getting me for xmas/to wear at their wedding, so lots of shopping on bond street 8) so we could find one that we could get in the states for quarter of the price

Lunch at Hakkasan which was very nice indeed and then back to oxford in time for fireworks.

Then out to Simple here in Oxford where Rennie Pilgrem was playing. Can't remember much of that night but woke up disgustingly hungover on sunday :(

Rob: did you dance around the fountain like the Von Trapp kidz did. mrs russ did when we went there!!!

Sat: Mrs russ was working so i took myself off to the newly refurbished Porchester Baths. spent a lovely chilled afternoon in the steam/sauna/baths. had a massage too. beautiful, art deco building, full of the usual mix of fat old jewish men, gayers and boxers.

sat eve: went to ministry for Derrick May v Francois K. freaking awesome. some of the best music ive heard this year. proper techno with a jazzy soulful vibe. grrrrreat.

however, i think i'll be giving ministry a wide berth for a while. it was full of some of the moodiest peeps.

it's never been a place where you can chat to folks you don't know but on sat there was a decidedly menacing feel in the air. there was a fight in the main room at about 2am and not a single bouncer was around to sort it out.

the old vip room has had all the chairs removed and there was a dj in there playing the most obvious funky house. the kind of stuff you would hear in your local Yates's.

but, as ever, the main room rocked. those boys sure can dj.

Salzburg looks gorgeous Rob, travelling Europe is definately next on my list!!

I had a lovely relaxed weekend:

Friday - Jon's last night in his flat, drove my car round to his, picked up proper fish and chips on the way  Pigged out on the sofa, then had an early night.

Saturday - Helped Jon move all his belongings out of the flat, rammed everything into the back of my little Clio then drove round to mine.
In the evening we had a meal with my family in Harpenden, lovely old English restaurant, few drinks and lots to catch up on. Opened some Christmas and birthday cards early and got some more money to go away with YES!

Sunday - Jon had a ticket for West Ham v Arsenal so dropped him off at the train station then headed back home to sort out the mess which we had left in my car. Spent the entire day moving boxes, bags of clothes, pots and pans etc into mine, watched the match COME ON YOU IRONS  Then picked Jon up again at 5pm.
Had a nice roast dinner then vegged out again on my sofa watching X Factor :D

Feel totally refreshed now, ready for the carnage of next weekend

No, I got told off for embarrassing the Pilchard by singing the sound of music theme when we landed so I didn't dare revisit that one.

(couldn't resist a quick rendition on top of the fort though.)

I love Salzburg! Didn't expect to like it quite that much.

Friday - drinks in the Hobgoblin in Marylebone - what a funny pub, the downstairs bit is like something out of Middle Earth. It felt like a Druids' convention. Ended up going on a detour on the way home after I rescued a very drunk young girl who was bawling her eyes out on the Bakerloo Line and didn't know how to get to London Bridge. Good karma for next time I need rescuing.

Saturday - met my sister in Trafalgar Square for the climate change rally. Simon Amstell from Popworld was compering it and he was so funny. He was getting boo-ed after upsetting the Christians. Saw KT Tunstall and Razorlight who were really good. Then sat and had coffee with my sis and her husband and discussed how the Green Party can make themselves electable. Then did a bit of shopping. Later got a cab to the most obscure pub in Kennington, the driver couldn't find it so he pulled into a petrol station to ask for directions, then reversed into another car. This nearly resulted in a fight as the other driver was threatening to call the police. At this point, me and my flatmate decided we'd be better off wandering the streets and eventually found the pub. Ended up at South London Pacific, which was a really good laugh. Lots of shots of sambuca and dancing to some classic cheese. Got the night bus home (I love the night bus  ) and stopped off for some fried chicken (must stop doing that it's foul ).

Sunday - homework, roast dinner, wine and One Tree Hill. :p

I didn't like it at all :?
It was sunday and rainny, everything was closed except the churches and the concert hall, and after being told off to visit a church in our biking costumes and helmets 8O :? we decided to left and drove to Innsbruck throught the mountains.
I also hated the austriac food.

Didn't even know Jessy was in London this week!

Fri - me and Tom were both off so had a lovely day shopping (got my new digital camera, thanks for all the help peeps ;) ) and doing wedding stuff - went to have late lunch at the hotel we're having our reception to sample the menu and completely stuffed myself and drank lots of rose (purely in the name of research  )

Sat - Tom was at work so I spent the day faffing around as I normally do on a Saturday - clothes shopping, dog walking, face masks, nails - I love being a girlie  Then headed over to Hampton early evening for Tom's Grandad's 80th birthday and caught up with all the relations and played hostess with the mostess  Then onto birthday celebrations part 2 and headed to Ministry for Erin's birthday. Jim Masters warned the Box up and then Francois K and Derrick May played back to back for the rest of the night - I wasn't sure how this would work - one of the Daddies of the house scene with the King of techno but it was absolutely superb :D Words cannot do justice to them, without doubt one of my top 3 sets of the year. Eventually left at 7.30am when the bouncers called time  and the cleaners were sweeping us up  Only complaint of the night were some of the absolute mongrels in the place - it seemed that they'd picked half of them up at the airport and instead of chucking them on the nearest bonfire where they belonged they chucked them into Ministry instead :spank:

Drinking, football and usual aftershow antics thru-out Sunday.

Fri - Gym, then went home lit a fire, made a HUGE cannalloni and drank wine. 8)

Sat - Daytime went for a walk along the River then had lunch from our fav chippy in Richmond.
Sat Eve - Meal at cocoon, really yum but pricey. Stayed and had cocktails.

Sun - Brother in law cooked us a mean roast, then we had fireworks back at ours and finished the weekend off with a curry and more vino.

What a weekend of mixed emotions. I have laughed, cried and been ecstatic. Close to almost bursting.

Saturday I had to get my final stuff together before moving out. Was really sad leaving the flat with my friends still there, did not feel totally ready to move but we all have to move on.
Had a nice meal Saturday night with the Harradence…

Sunday, met Cousin and new found Uncle at 12.30 in The Stanley in Plaistow, necked a few jars then headed to Upton Park for a free match beer.
What a game – The first half we set out to prevent Arsenal from playing and did just that. Playing 5 across the middle stopped them from creating many chances, not to mention our defence from being outstanding.
When Harewood missed the 1 on 1, I honestly hoped for a draw, but when we scored I have never experienced such a release.

There are few games which will be remembered for various reasons, this will be remembered for ever for all the right ones…Not to mention we bloody deserved it, bring on 2 strikers was such a positive move…

Absolutely fab weekend!

Fri: Didn't do a lot just watched some DVD's.

Sat: Work in the afternoon, then out at night. went to this thing called Brighton Beach at the uni - absolutely loved it!!! :D :D Then onto a bar until some silly hour! My cheek kills today!

I'm actually enjoying work today

Very relaxed weekend.

Friday - Home after work, made dinner, watched Lost S03 E05 (one of my favorite characters died :() then to a bar called Duma to watch my friends' band play. Stuck chatting with people around afterwards then to Starlite Diner for breakfast with the band & friends.

Saturday - Relaxed day at home (avoiding the nationalist demonstrations :?) then out for a nice Chinese dinner with the missus. Fired up the hookah for the first time when we got home

Sunday - Major housecleaning then to the sports bar at 7. Spent 9 hours eating, drinking, watching football and American football with Irina and the guys.

Monday - Bank holiday. Long sleep-in. Will probably do a bit more housework and then make a big fancy dinner...

fri - after the torture of the weekly big shop, a quiet night in catching Laura up with old episodes of 24 so that she is up to date for the new season

sat - quick jaunt across town to pick up a mates decks & mixer, milled around the house, over to another mates new house in the stix to set up aforementioned decks for his party.

was a quietish party, not too many people but i dj-ed for about 4 and a half hours - got absolutely hammered during this and the mate whose decks i used arrived just after 12 to take over - Laura bundled me into a taxi and after thats a blur

Sun - very quiet, laura went out for a walk with her folks but i just melted into the couch.

8O

lovely weekend in brighton, very chilled. Saw two beautiful sunsets.
