A very relaxed post-Ibiza weekend for the me and the missus

Friday - Watched World Cup football, sought some tune IDs from Ibiza trip, slept

Saturday - Went to sports bar for England game, came home for Brazil-France. Slept

Sunday - Watched some DVDs, did some computer maintenance, wrore Ibiza review, Slept. Made some beef stroganoff for lunch and chicken divan for dinner. mmm. :D

Now time to start another week back at work

Fri - popped off at the shops for a quick look round after work, ended up getting home 4 hours later laden with bags, soooo much good stuff in the shops at the mo.

Sat - met up with Gollum at lunchtime in Clapham for the football  lots of wines, staggered home after the game, got changed and headed to Ministry for Soul Heaven. It was ages since I'd been to a Soul Heaven night and it made such a change, Kerri Chandler and Dennis Ferrer played back to back all night and were unbelievable. Love the new VIP in Ministry, so much better than the old one. All plans to head off home afterwards went out the window when Jamie popped into say hi  Left Ministry and went back to ours to carry on, then we drove over East cos Jamie was adamant Secretsundaze was on, after wandering the streets and many phone calls later realised that Secretsundaze wasn't on   so ended up at a fake Secretsundaze  full of Essex scrubbers  Forumla it's the new Secretsundaze  Finished off the wkend with a roll round Jesus Green

Friday afternoon, swaped shopping with pep by swimmingpool cos Pep had work. Met him at late at 52 with the usual gang and after lots of drinks, smokes and laughs we managed to leave around 3
Saturdday: firs heat weave of the summer, so best thing to do was wearing or motorider suites and ride for the whole day with a couple of friends. At night we were meant to go to a house birthday party but there were only fans and we decided to stay home near our air-con
Sunday: spent all day in the beach

Fri - Few drinks after work....then.....picked up my new mini......:D Sooooooo, have swapped this........

FOR THIS..................................:D

Bit of a crazy moment as only decided to do it on Thursday....but you cannot believe how fun & tiny it is to drive!:D

Sat - breakfast in fav place.....bit of sale shopping (which totally stressed me out! ) Lunch on the beach. 8) Decided to watch the football in my house with the boyfriend....HOWEVER....bloody Spanish TV decide to put this ONLY game of the whole World Cup on pay-per-view BUT we can watch the match 45 minuted delayed  :spank: .....in the end Im too "tinto verano´d" up to move off the sofa to a bar so we end up listening to it Live! on the bloody internet radio:evil: Night - dinner near beach.....:D

Sun - lazy lazy day, bbq at mine with friends!:D

My memory is in bits after Ibiza... I'm struggling to remember what Ive done over the last three days! 8O

Friday - Watched Germany game in work, then headed home for dinner and DVD with Jon

Saturday - Up bright and early, headed into London to watch the football  Several comiserating drinks later I find myself in the middle of Leicester Square. Quick drink in a bar there then we decide to head home... got completely lost in the Gay Pride march  every street I turned down I seemed to be cornered by a 7foot trannie arrghhhh! Finally escaped from the madness and found a tube station, headed home and climbed into the safety of my bed

Sunday - Brilliant weather so we drove to my Granny's out in the country! Done a spot of gardening then walked down for a paddle in the river and a drink in the local pub. Back home for a roast and ice cream, then back out to the pub for a couple more drinks.

fri - v.quiet nite in

sat - watched the England game  and then Andy Murray winning :)

nite time - went to Xpress @ November in Glasgow to catch Stu Hirst. Finally managed to meet up with the chap himself after several aborted attempts and a thoroughly nice bloke he is too!

November is a weird place for a club night tho as (in its former guise of October  - it was a pre-club bar that closed at 12) so, although packed when we got there at 11:30 - from 12 t o1 it quickly cleared. Such a shame as Stu's set was excellent (apart from the "technical difficulties" moment :p ). In the end, Mr Hirst had to resort to vinyl classics to get some peeps dancing - but it was a good night despite the venue.

sun - another quiet day in the intense humidity - had lovely fajitas in The Arches restaurant and got some essentials for next weekends T in the Park - inc tiny toiletries and cheap sunglasses (not taking my Ray Bans- i lost my cheapos last year at TITP) which are huge and bug like.

watched the finale of 24 later - WOW! Day 6 starting in january is just too far to find out what happens to Jack!

:D

Hola everyone! Just about recovered from Ibiza now and utterly busy at work :x

Got back from ibiza on saturday night at about midnight

Woke up early on sunday to drive back to oxford from essex where I was staying at my friend's parents house

then was nicely surprised by a fully blown street festival taking place on Cowley Road near me, it was the annual Cowley Road food festival and all the restaurants (the road has loads of different foreign food places) were open onto the street selling food, indian, polish, kebabs, thai, chinese, jamaican, lebanese etc, loads of big music systems banging out everything from ragga to dnb to house, random performers (a mechanical horse that breathed fire was quite 8O  )

caught up with friends there over a few beers, then went home and unpacked - realised I'd accidentally smuggled stuff back with me8O 8O 8O - serves me right for just chucked everything into my bag instead of packing properly

Will write a review this evening when I've got some time

sat - isla's party went smoothly, my cooking was a total success:oops: (bit gutted i forgot to take a pic of my masterpieces though........doh!), lots of prezzies, sangria, usual football let down feeling, chill out music into the night, saw one of 'THE' performances by Zizou. lots of :D :D :D 8) 8) 8) all day

sun - the cleanup operation!!

Fri - Just a quiet one watched BB then went to beddy byes

Sat - First day at New Look - wasn't as bad as I thought - the four hours went quite quicky and it was soooo easy! :D My friend picked me up to watch the football  Felt so so crap after it so ended up staying in! (now 3 weeks in a row!!!)

Sun - Took myself off to Birmingham - was very very good and only got some jeans and a bag :D

All in all not a bad weekend!

Friday - work night out at a Brazilian bar/club place called Guanabara. Great atmosphere and lots of fit boys. :p

Saturday - met Babs for lunch and football at what I thought was a fairly civilised pub in Clapham. Unfortunately had been taken over by a group of idiots drinking jugs of Pimms (?), swinging their shirts round their heads and bellowing ROOOOOONEY every five seconds. Turned into the sweatiest sweatbox in the world by the time the match started. Was v drunk by the time I left and was passed out in bed by 10.30.

Sunday - 6.45am wake up call from the House of Pink informing me that the inhabitants had entered Middle Earth (I LOVE going to Middle Earth  ). Luckily my phone wasn't in my room and I slept through for a good 12 hours. Spent most of the day in the garden reading, listening to the radio, having a bbq and drinking spritzers. :p

Nice weekend. Good mixture of both chilling and going out.

Friday/Saturday - chilled out.
Saturday night - went to mark sun's bbq and his girlfriends housewarming party. Had a nice time, good music, good people, nice flat. Headed off to egg, waited 45 mins to get only to be told that because i was with another bloke and therefore wasn't in the company of women we weren't allowed in:evil: so decided to head off to mos, which is no hardship :D Had a good night, and great to see tom, sarah, and jaime. Ministry definately isn't the same with out the podium though, bring it back i say (lets get a petition going :D ).

Fri - drank wine and died on balcony with a s__.

Sat - got up, went to see the gays for pride 8O. Called three gayers to ask if they wanted to join...got some classic responses:
1. Is pride on then? Naah you're alright mate.
2. I think I'm going to hang up the phone. *click*
3. Enjoy the funky house, I'm staying as far east as possible.
You can always rely on the gayers!

Watched from a distance and then got caught in an Oxford Circus riot! 8O
Next thing I know we're crossing the road and we're in the march behind a 'gay jogging group' or something. 8O
Some tranny blows a whistle and they all run off leaving us in the middle of the road smoking with a can of fosters.
So somehow we end up waving at loads of tourists and suddenly the gays are the best things ever invented.
...until we got to Soho sq where they were playing Beyond classics.
Pilchard's classic line, "I've got to go Rob, I've got laundry to do."

So we left pride to do washing. 8O

Sun - Braved Oxford street and got pre-work blues.

:D

haha !
note to budding dj's - it's not preferable to stand on the plug feeding juice into the whole system, plunging the place into silence for 5 mins......

note to owner - don't put the f*cking plug right beside my left foot !
:p

Friday:

Pure Pacha was ok, Jeff Mills played the funkiest set ever.. 8O i thought i was in Soul bloody Heaven!! He got a bit harder later on, and then Tongy thankfully played a few big tunes.

One thing that annoyed me is the little "show" they put on with dancers half way through the night.. everyone one on the dancefloor stops dancing and takes pictures.. whats the point?!

Sat: footy, say goodbye to Zarbtron ;) and bora bora

Sun: Wicked time at WLS. Tom Novy was spot on in the afternoon. Later on caught Ulysees, Guetta, Dan Ghenacia, Mr C.. all fantastic. The sunset terrace was perfectly busy, never too rammed. It was the first time id seen only HALF the inside being used for Space.. it was a bit odd when i walked in!!

Mon: Cocoon was brilliant. Best night of my holiday. My first time there and it lived up to everything id heard (aside from Barbie slagging it off ;) ). Got in at 1ish and heard a bit of Loco Dice in the terrace who FINALLY delivered the goods. Not sure if it was the Ibiza vibe but the minimal sound he played there I enjoyed much more than when he played at The End. Then saw Vath finish off in the main room. Brilliant mad electro/trance/techno set.. the guys energy was unbelievable, and the crowd was going mad for every single track. Finished up in Space for an after party called "Tuesdays Off" or something, It was good, but it was a bit quiet.
Then off to Bora bora..

Wed: home

One thing i'll take from this trip is the incredible vibe of the footy fans in Bora Bora. When Germnay knocked out Argentina, you had both set of fans with their flags on the tables dancing and singing and smiling.. similarly with france v brazil 8) 8)

I guess that's what happens when you tell a techno god to play a 'house set' 8O

Locodice on the amnesia terrace = 8) 8) 8) 8)

(I have a feeling I'm going to have to go through serious pain every week as people give reviews of their trips 8O - not fair!)

I think this proves that a certain pink someone needs to "grow a tastebud" ;)

It was quite nice, wasn't it? Every game was on everywhere (cue laughter at our earlier discussions of where to watch the games!) and everyone was into it. The missus and I especially loved the Brazilian post-game parties at Pago Pago @ Jet, complete with drummers and vocalists.
