I guess I'll start off this week's re-caps...
Friday - We started drinking in the office at about 5pm. One bottle of wine later, I went home to change before meeting some colleagues at a bohemian bar called Gogol. Turns out they were celebrating Bob Marley's birthday with some quite decent live reggae bands. One sufficiently pissed, it was over to club Fabrique where I ran into some of the usual suspects in similar condition and the resident DJs in halfway decent form.
Saturday - Got my computer from the shop. Went to the sports bar to watch Chelsea get rightfully spanked. Home to change before the missus and I were off to the re-opening of club First, once one of the most chic clubs in town at a prime location across the river from the Kremlin. They moved out to the Art Center on Plyuschikha, a distant venue that's nevertheless dear to our hearts as the site of some of the best one-off parties in town over the past few years (events with Danny Rampling, X-Press2, Pete Tong and Deep Dish come to mind). First did a beautiful job remodelling the old venue but removed any soul it had in the process.
By 1am, it was packed with blondes in heals. By 1:30, an even number of guys in suit jackets appeared. Time to go.
Onwards to Club XIII for John Digweed
. He played an absolute blinder of a set. Totally rocked the place, and the crowd was up for it as well. Good night.
Sunday - Bought a Tv tuner for my computer. Made some great lemon chicken and shrimp & roast pork fried rice.
