Hope your all alive :D

Friday: Done a bit of shopping and bought some DVD's, The Incredibles and Starsky & Hutch, love them both.

Saturday: Me & Joey were booked in to a day spa, lovely. Back massage and a aromatherapy facial and pampered totally. Then we went back home and got ready to go out. Lovely italian restaurant in the mailbox and then we went to Money Pennys to see Ron Carol.

Sunday: Got up about 1.30pm and died all day.

Today: Took my little brother to the zoo, where we stood in a que to get lunch and then got rained on

What did you all do?

Don't normally join in on the weekend rundowns thread, but it's bank holiday and i'm feeling crrrazzy  here goes.

Friday - meal with Dom in comedy greek restaurant near our flat.

Saturady - Trafford centre with my Mum and Sister looking for my Mums 'Mother of the bride wedding outfit , the place was so busy so all a bit stressful really. Evening family get together shed load of wine (my family like a drink!)

Sunday - friends down from London, started off in the Cavern (for novilty value) bit of shopping, food, drinks in the day. Evening we started at Blue bar then moved onto Babycream for more food and drinks (my London mates have fallen in love with it) then onto Subliminal at Nation..... oh my god Erick rocked, best night I have had in ages, Lovely crowd. :D

Got to bed about 10 am this morning after sitting on the mersey with a bottle of wine and a pack of fags watching the ferry tugging across.

Today - I feel awful but just poured a glass of Red to ease the pain.

:P

How much do I love Bank Holiday Weekends 8O :D

Fri - got offered a fab freelancing job 6pm Friday evening so Tom cooked me fancy dinner and had a few vinos to celebrate :D

Sat - out in the sunshine all afternoon having lunch and a few spritzers with a friend. Watched Chelsea become Champions which meant Tom was the happiest boy in London Town, kind of made of up for Forest being relegated  Went out early evening to pop in and say hi at Alex's night and met Jon and Bec, then quick hop across the river to Ministry. I was a bit dubious about seeing Erick, I used to be his number 1 stalker but thought he'd really gone down the pan over the last few years but was prepared to give him another go. Nice little warm-up in the Bar with Marc and then into the Box where blokey from Who da Funk was playing, and as I walked in Cassius - Le Mouche (sp??) was playing and I know it was going to be one of those nights :D The new Swedish pup addition to the Subliminal family played next Steve Angello and he is my new official stalkee  So by the time Erick came on the night had already been blinding but Erick topped it off big style-eeeee, one exploding moment after another, just like the good old Erick sets of old and when he finished with MAW - To be in Love (mine and Tom's wedding song  ) I did literally explode. Played til 8.30am as well, just like the good old Ministry days :D Kidnapped Jon and Bec at the end of the night, went back to ours for a few rose and Lucozade shenanigans, then drove over east to meet up with Jamie and co in preparation for the main event, the first Secret Sundaze of the year :D Lover Rachel had just got back from New Zealand as well so lots of minxiness followed. Was a bit worried if SS would be as good now it had moved to The Poet from 93ft East but it was even better, a proper outside terrace just like DC10 where it was proper going off from 2pm, lots of dirrrrttty electro. What better way to spend a Sunday afternoon throwing a few shapes in the sunshine :D Poor Tom had to leave at 6pm to go to SFP (stupid family party) despite our best intentions to kidnap him, we left about 8pm and went back to Jamies where birthday boy Alex turned up. Lots more minxiness followed, Tom got back from SFP about midnight and we went out on a little adventure for Alex's birthday, a roll around in Jesus Green, playground antics and a few road cloasures  Had a bit of fruit therapy from the fruit therapist Rachel and did makeovers  finally passed out in wine coma about 4.30am having a little slumber party at Jamies

Mon - woke up at Jamies, got on the rose, went out for lunch for Alex's birthday, had another roll around in Jesus Green in the sunshine, back to Jamies and then come 9pm remembered we live in West London so reluctantly came home.

Bring on the next Bank Holiday :D

Fri - meal at La Tasca in Glasgow - as usual ate too much - then chick flick with Laura

Sat- mate in works satg do in Edinburger - headed over with a mate of mine in the afternoon - serious session ensued, we left on the 11pm train back (thank god - if we'd stayed we would probably be dead by now)

got into Glasgow and being completely wrecked, headed to Mas for the usual saturday night nonsense

Sun - lay in bed most of the day dieing slowly - got together enough to head with Laura and friends to Cream Classics at The Tunnel - now, the old residents were great, some old house & trance (even Tevendale who i used to abhor his sets) but...

how absolute pish is Jeremy Healy!!! - Last months event had Whitehead & K-Klass and it was great - Healy couldn't mix, spent far too much time arseing about with the vinyl instead of beat-matching

also - Cream Classics right - we got (amongst others) Mylo - Drop the Pressure (2004) & Franz Ferdinands Daft Punk mix (2004) and at least 1 other which name escapes me. Hardly classics!

Fri - Nice dinner in Soho and then on to Fiction at the Cross. Ended up in AM which was far too packed. Home by 10am and had a few drinks before calling it a day at 12.
Sat - Got up at 4pm. Went to friends for dinner and then out in East London for a few drinks. Home by 4am and an early night!! 8O
Sun - Tried to study during the day, a few drinks early evening and then went to Orange at the Fridge around midnight. Really good night but was very packed and hot. Left around 8.30am and home for some aftershow shenanigans.
Mon - Continued aftershow all day and finished up around 8pm Mon night!

Friday - Took niece to the circus (Definitely wouldnt go back - not fair on animals) but she is 4 and loved it.

Sat - Shopping and lovely chinese and rose wine.

Sunday - Crasher (Kings Hall) fantastic night.

Monday - Recover

Urgh, urgh, urgh. :?

Friday - Went on a sort of date thingy with a gorgeous Spaniard but as soon as we reached the pub we forgot about the date and went off on one about Barcelona...by the end of the evening we were plastered and very good friends.

Saturday - Saw mates all day and in the evening went for poncy drinks in a crap Covent Garden bar for someone's birthday. Getting plastered was the way forward as birthday boy in question was the "friend" who has unknowingly been the object of my desire for the last 5 months. :?
Saturday night - got stupidly excited and wound up at Beyond which was absolutely amazing. Loads of old faces crawled out of the woodwork and the music was just unbelieveable. Especially the last DJ who always plays it really well. I kept myself very busy to cope with birthday boy stress and wound up on a mound of grass in the middle of V_____ from 3pm onwards. At this point V_____ looked absolutely stunning 8O a few cheeky sniffs of K later and we were convinced we were in Costa Del Sol. A parasol and few towels and we would've been well away! God knows what the passing cars must've thought.
A few more sniffs and things began to get very wrong. 8O 8O 8O
I seem to remember forraging around in the grass and recruiting random people for an archeological dig. We found a ring pull and decided it dated back to roman times, put it on a plynth and charged passers by to come and have a look.
...
I'll stop right there because I'm not sure I should be admitting to this.

Sunday night - Urgh.

Monday - Carry on at Fire. V messy and full of Beyond/Orange casualties still going strong. A V_____ freak show at its very best! :D

Today - Haven't quite decided how I'm feeling yet. I've got the shakes and can't hold a conversation but I should be ok after a dose of caffeine.

Friday: After my first session of sunbathing, meet Sync and his friend at Benidorm :D :D We had dinner at my friend's bar and then we went to Manchester, a new bar opened around. I will get back for sure. Around 1.00 went to la Paloma, quite shocking at first time cos it was empty :? (I think everybody was at la Feria de Abril), but it was still more shocking to hear the orchestra destroying one by one lots of nice songs, including the appearenc of Tom Jones' twin 8O   Finally, the orchestra left and arrived Telephunken. We danced and jumped for a couple of hours and that was all. I have to say that I think I won't be back to La Paloma, the 3 last time I've been there the music is too soft (even for me) and quite weird, with strange mixes and combinations. And the happy crowd is disappeared and it's mostly a tourists clubs. It's a big big shame cos for three years it was the place to be, we got for free most of the days and I had the best exploding moments there

Saturday: Meet friends at 2.00 down the south for a birthday paella, spent the afternoon and the evening in the beach.

Sunday: Went for another shellfish tapas lunch with my friend Alex. At 7.00 went to my nieces's 4th birthday party, thanks god my brother in law was watching the match. We won :D

Great but tiring weekend! :D

Fri, chinese and muchos smokios at my house. Don't think i've been THAT stoned in a long time!

Sat, work in the morning then trip to Ikea with a friend who's just as bad with spending money as me! Cue car so full of plants and shit I have serious trouble driving back across the river

Sat nite, Club Class, Dubfire played an amazing set worth waiting for. Only complaint was how totally straight and boyish the crowd was.

Sunday went for pub lunch and drinkies, ended up getting very messy and having a party back at mine. Busybody friends kept telling me to turn my music down because of my neighbours but strangely, a few hours after that neighbour was in my house snorting lines 8O 8O and saying turn the music up

Yesterday, took most of the day to sort my head out then got stuff ready for today and finished the weekend with another chinese takeout :D

Today isn't Day 1, just couldn't even face thinking about it today

Without further ado:

Friday - Went home after work for a nap, then headed out to club Fabrique to catch Armand Van Helden. WHAT CRAP! I am so bummed I didn't go to Bob Sinclar at club First instead because Van Helden played a pathetic set that included nearly a whole hour straight of hard rock remixes (Highway to Hell?? TWO Nirvana songs? and how bored am I of Seven Nation Army!!). It was especially offensive as his warmup act, a local DJ, had played a great house set. Also had a spat with the missus that saw us partying the rest of the night separately. Home at 4:30.

Saturday - General lethargy until about 19:30 when we headed over to the sports bar to catch Chelsea v. Bolton. General elation. CHAMPIONS! Then back home to change quickly and over to club Gaudi for the Gallery (Turnmills) party. Tall Paul and company played a thumping heavy house night that, for some reason, I was in the mood for. Home at 6.

Sunday - Repeated general lethargy. The missus forced me to blow a wad of cash on an overpriced dinner out.

Monday - Did absolutely nothing other than shopping for food and watching a pirate copy of the movie Sin City. Great flick.

I heard AVH only played for about 10 minutes at Gatecrasher1 on Sunday 8O

Sneak was wicked though apparently.

They probably kicked him off stage
I've liked several of his tunes... once again proving that great producers don't necessarily make good DJs

He's usually really good....must have had a bad weekend, someone on another forum said he was shit at Sankeys in Manc as well and played the same rock type songs.

I know a promoter who had been trying for ages to get him to Moscow (and failed) and when he finally comes he plays THAT set. You can imagine the disapointment.

Compare that to Sinclar, whom I missed in order to see Van Heldon. He played a better set in Moscow last autumn than he did when I saw him in Ibiza last summer - starting french-housy and getting deeper and deeper.

It's always interesting to compare people's sets here and in Ibiza or London. Unfortunately, haven't seen Van Heldon elsewhere.

PD: Totally felt in love with Sync and Matt  8O ;)

Aaaaaw thanks Sil...we felt the same way, and it was a great night! Shame we couldn't meet up again on the Sunday, but there were too many sights we still had to cram in! 8)

I enjoyed La Paloma....as Matt said, some of the tunmes the DJ played were good, it's just he didn't build a decent set. It wasn't as good as the previous time I went, during carnival 8O 8)

Rest of the weekend in Barcelona fantastic - beautiful people, laydeeeez, and of course the lovely Sil :D That restaurant was delicious, and the staff nice, especially that guy who likes Marc Almond, and the lovely Christina... ;) 8)

I popped into the absenta bar, Marseila, the next night, and nearly got high just on the fumes! Very atmospheric place, redolant of Picasso and Genet, next to the seediest street in town, San Ramon 8O 8)

Showed Matt the usual sights, including Parc Guell and Sagrad Familia. Took loads of photos. Bought a couple of harelquin masks in a carnival shop 8O and drank enough coffee to power a small ship!

Oh yeah, really liked Macarena as well - very cool music. We didn't make Catwalk in the end, but went round the bars in town.

Fab time as always, can't wait to come back soon! 8O 8) :D

Fri - Gym

Sat - Spent all day building new decking area "out back" then watched Real madrid game with a few beers.

Sun - More power tool action in the day then regular pilgrimage to London for Seriousworld 2 :D
Very enjoyable night with a great crowd and a great variety of Music. There really was something for everyone with the Dusted room at one end playing some great house tunes and the Serious room plying some trancetastic tunes :D Great to see my good friend Ferd and to meet xamount and a couple of others who's names I cant recall ;)

Mon - Afterparty at the Key, danced for an hour and a half and then made the fatal mistake of sitting down in one of the comfortable leather settees, tried to get out of the seat but really just wated to stay and sleep  In the end left about 10.30 to get train home.
Got back to Bristol at 1.30 told wife I was going to bed......4.00 woken up and told to get on with the half finished DIY project...did that until 7.30 then finished up with chinese curry that I had been dreaming about all afternoon......as usual sat down to eat it had 2 mouthfalls and felt that was enough - appetite suddenly vanished
;)

Tue - Feel surprisingly clearheaded....must have been all the DIY :?

Sat- washed car, had to stop cos it was getting dark, decided to finish waxing on sunday...

Sun - went to see football round mates. it rained. :?

mon - washed car AGAIN. :?

Shit! I forgot to talk you about Pastis! :?
It's the smalles absinta bar in the world, full of selfportraits of the first owner, who used to paint after a bottle of absinta 8O El Greco compared
to this guy is the most realistic thing in the world

Next time you come make for sure a kinky bar's tour ;)
