Weekend Reports

Yeah, a much needed one!
Settling back in to a 5 day week was a difficult one!

Spend your time working?

Very dull weekend which was deliberate as didnt want to spend money or get spazzed.

went to my parents house n chilled there friday n saturday generally helping them with errands.
The highlight was making a massive home made curry feast for everyone for dinner! Tried a new lamb recipe which would have been brilliant had i left out the cardomon and mustard seeds , why they were in the recipe i do not know blurgh! Made a bombay prawn curry which was delicious , a spiced fish dish that was ok and home made dahl which was really nice. we got breads and rice from the takeaway tho
by sunday i was itching for a pint so went back to house and embarked on a sunday session in the sun with my flatmate.
Decent but rather quiet weekend all in all

not much to report from saturday.

sunday was lovely though. the spotlight squad had a proper playa d'en bossa bar crawl and we obviously all ended up at we love. i personally didn't stay long this time (not like we love opening last week where they had to drag me out of the club in the morning!), but faves this time were alfredo & jaime fiorito on premier etage just before midnight and then heidi on the terrace a bit later.

Quite one for me.. Body & Soul festival this weekend in Co.Westmeath:p M83,John Talabot, spiritualized, little dragon,Jacques greene and many more..:D

Got last minute Tickets for a Primal Scream gig at weekend in the small town of Dunoon across the river from me.... What a gig, they smashed it,.....Swaztika Eyes took the roof off!!!!

Not heard anyone mention Dunoon since we went there on a summer holiday many years ago as a kid prob 1976, quietest summer holiday ever!

I was in St Petersburg for the weekend.

Flew in on Friday, went out for dinner at Gerard Depardieu's Italian restaurant (forget name) which is really very good. Then went to a nice little underground club called Mishka and randomly ran into people I know from Moscow.

Saturday, went to a work event then spent the day on New Holland Island which has a lovely summer program going (highly recommended if you visit the city!) which ended with a great concert by Motorama, a group from Rostov-on-Don that sings in English. I swear the lead singer is the reincarnation of Ian Curtis! I hope these guys make it big.

Ended up back in Mishka later with a big group of friends from Moscow that also came up for the weekend.

Sunday - flew home.

a ghost town since the american navy base left Holy Loch many years ago....it was a very intimate gig.....one of the best ive been to in a while 8)

Went to Lovebox for about 3 hours Sunday evening. Not all that impressed by it....was having a far better time where I was before going there.

Blur of a weekend.

Where were you then?

Weatherall in the Downlow was off the scale. The trannies working the runway to his sleazy bpms were a sight to behold. Some more really special moments in what I still consider to be the most forward thinking and best club in the world. 8) - spent virtually the entire day in there.

Grace hula-ing and bashing a drum/growling to 'Feel up' = 8). Fine display of hats and a stage presence like no other.

Lovebox 2012 = a belter.

After a 'chilled one' on Saturday, I ventured into Vauxhall for the first time in my life, with a few old work mates. They've talked about it a lot, so thought I'd give it a try.

Gotta say, very impressed. Friendliest crowd, and the music was up my street all night. Was there for about 12 hours (got lost in time) and decided to venture up to lovebox for a bit.....what a mistake.

Sounds fab. Was far too locked in 'recovery and catch-up' to make it down for this :( .. Weatherall is still one of my firm favourites to this day 8).
