One weekend over and time to look ahead to the next

We've got Wednesday off for Victory Day so I'm already in a weekend mood :D Not planning anything tonight so I might actually get up early enough to wander over and watch the big military parade. Will watch some football in the evening.

Friday - Going to see the musical Stomp! :D Great show and highly recommended if you haven't seen it. They say they've brought a new version of the show to town for a week's engagement. Really looking forward to it.

Saturday - Going to see Fun Loving Criminals in concert. Later on, fighting the crowds to get into the club Rai where the legendary Ce Ce Peniston is set to do live vocals over a few tracks :D

Sunday - Rest, shopping, etc...

:D :D Sounds like a great weekend Morbyd....would love to go and see Stomp! AND the Fun Loving Criminals in one weekend! Very jealous! :D :D

Thanks, I'm totally psyched! :D (thus the early post ) I saw Stomp in Washington when it first started touring and then in Moscow about 5 years ago and absolutely love it. :D And the Criminals, well, they're just a great live band. And I anticipate dancefloor explosion moment when Peniston sings "Finally"

Will probably just hang out with oxford friends I expect.

Absolutely no plans whatsoever as this is the only weekend we have free to finalise wedding stuff so our wkend is going to consist of things like:

writing wedding vows
finalising wedding menus
doing any last shopping for wedding/Ibiza
sorting out bouquet
etc etc etc

I have also promised Tom a trip to the cinema to see This is England 8O

Barbie I saw this at the weekend!! Unusual but not that bad. Very violent and lots of swearing.
Doesnt have an end point either just shows you the way of life in 1983 (year I was born - yay :p )

Fri - possible night out with the lads and ladies, we are thinking of hitting Reflex in the City for a bit of a geek off but after everyones enthusiasm or lack of today I am not sure if it will go ahead.

Sat - a new lady friends b.day, she has invited us bless her so should be a laugh. Apparantly we are going to a bar that does shots called Jam Doughnuts - all sounds very intriguing.

Sun - no plans at all

Lots of relaxing where I am meant to be trying to save to move out :spank:

That makes me feel so old Emma :spank:

I'm not one for films but I've read the reviews and I quite like the sound of some 80s nostalgia.

Sorry

You will like it for that reason, the clothes, and the houses and that. Just go and see it anyway you never know you may enjoy!

My weekend is virtually the same as last weekend! :D :? :D

Fri - driving to Madrid with everyone after lunch.

Sat - shopping...going to the Bernabeu again in the evening to watch the game.

Sun - no plans apart from watching the F1 (unfortunately on the TV and not there :( )

 That's the kind of thing I'd say to my Mum if she was going to watch a 60s film

Me and the person I went with enjoyed it for those reasons though seeing all the old cars and the clothes were just the best!!! Brought back lots of memories :p

Love 80s nostalgia.

Still find it hard to comprehend that people were born in the 80s though
(and some people born in the 90s are getting ready for university 8O )

oooh I don't know some sort of alcohol and cream yum!! Oh and sugar round the glass!!:D Think its vodka and strawberry liqour!!

victory day for what morbs??
Victory in the Great Patriotic War, my friend.

Otherwise known (in the rest of the world) as World War II.

In the States, I think the day is known as VE Day (Victory in Europe) and is on May 8 instead of the 9th (due to time difference), but it's not really celebrated.

The Russians lost more people in the war than everyone else combined (not entirely the Germans fault, of course, as Stalin's policies didn't help!). In light of that, they take the holiday very very seriously. Big parades, fireworks, etc. War veterans, now quite elderly, get feted in every way possible all across the country.
