Weekend Plans

Weds - me and Tom are going to see Howard Marks - An Audience with Senor Nice @ Shepherds Bush Empire - love his books so can't wait to hear him retelling some of his antics :D

How was this ? Went to see him last week and was really dissappointed. Was looking forward to it and he got really stoned and couldn't really speak by the end of it, which was very annoying, looked like a sad old man to me. Got newsletter email today, referring to it as an "amazing" show too. :spank:

And to contribute to the post, Thursday - Out in Bournemouth, Friday - Out in Bournemouth, Saturday - Maison with Craig Richards, Serge Santiago & Cliff Lay in Bournemouth ( Hopefully ).

Thurs - Take a test, hand in a paper, celebrate my B-DAY!!!!

Friday - Continue celebrating my b-day with a halloween/birthday party at my place after a night at the opera with my girlfriend

Sat - Night time feast with my family, then another halloween party at a friend's house

Sunday - Work and football - GO BRONCOS!

He was absolutely fantastic, I was actually surprised how well he looked and coherent he was - he smoked a few joints on stage but he wasn't particularly stoned. We could have listened to him all night he was so interesting and had the whole audience in stitches with some of his antics.

Did he do a Q&A sesh at the end for the audience where you saw him??

I guess we caught him on a good night and you caught him on a bad night - I guess anyone who smokes 30 joints a day (his actual words  ) is not always going to be at their best 8O

Fri - probably quiet night in, may go to cinema.
Sat - gym during the day, maybe go to Arsenal v Everton, if I can get a ticket in the Everton end. Got a party in Marylebone in the evening and then off to La Troya Asesina @ Area in Vauxhall. This will prob be far too packed so will see how it goes and then may head to Trade afterwards.
Sun - depends on how Saturday night goes.

I have to say I really don't like Area. Went to a post-DTPM afterparty there on the August bank holiday Monday and it was too packed, stank of mildew and those white corrugated walls show up the funked-ness of the punters way too clearly for that time in the morning. Fire rates much higher on the Vauxhall den-of-iniquity scale.

Also, Oliver's not coming over for La Troya. It's Oscar Colorado this time.

Oh yeah, and it's my grandmother's 80th birthday party on the Sunday afternoon, so will definitely have to behave on Saturday night.

funny enough i havent been to area yet.....so it will be interesting to see what its like. was at later last sunday and i usually dont like fire as its too packed but wasnt that bad last week.....i will see how it goes on sat/sun and leave if its too packed.

surely going straight from vauxhall/trade to your grandmothers 80th birthday is one way to help you get through the event.

Don't really fancy being all twitchy-eyed and sleep-deprived in front of parents and assorted cousins/great aunts.

A:M's a good laugh at the moment. The music's usually pretty good in a mainstream electro-funky house sort of a way.

Ha ! Yeah like you said, I guess you were lucky. The last half hour or so he just had to play a video coz he was too gone. He did try a Q & A sesh but it was shocking, alot of idiots just asking soley about skunk and thinking they're heavy, only about three questions. I was more interested in like evasions from the law etc., little anecdotes like that. Oh well, it was all paid for by the company with free meal and booze so can't complain. If I had paid the £20 a ticket, it woulda been another story.
