Wedding Base / Accomdation suggestions

Hi,
I was hoping to get you guys opinions on a couple of matters.
I am getting married in Ibiza in July next year and I am currently looking at options for accommodations.

Firstly, I am undecided on which town to base the guests, although they are obviously all free to stay where they want, many of them are asking where we are staying as a large % of them all want to be based in and around the same area. There will be a mix of type of people, some young, some old, some families, younger folk etc

We are looking for somewhere quiet’ish (ie not San An etc) and picturesque, but not so quiet that there is very little to do apart from Sun bath.

I was thinking Santa Eulalia would be a good choice? If you guys were in the same situation, where would you suggest?

The other dilemma that I have is whether or not to go for a Villa or hotel. A decent hotel is very expensive for people with kids, whereas a Villa, although expensive, when divided between say 10 (5 bedroom) or so people is sometimes better value for money.

The problem with Villas is getting a few close to each other to accommodate a lot of the guests, and getting one that is relatively central so that people do not have to hire a car or get taxi’s everywhere.

Again, has anybody any recommendations for Villas, or hotels they would recommend for wedding parties?

Thanks,

Hi mate, I'm getting married as well in Ibiza next May and I've been thinking about the same thing. Where is your wedding going to be? I was thinking Santa Eularia myself but I've never really stayed there...it is pretty close to the wedding venue I guess but the thing is that Ibiza isn't that big really, so theoretically guests could stay anywhere and never be that far from where the wedding is. I think Figuretas is also a good bet, nice and close to Ibiza town...nice beach, plenty of different accommodation options there. Also close enough to PDB and the clubs for those who'll want that...

look you suggested, I think the location of the wedding venue is pretty irrelevant as guests will only spend one day there. I'm more concerned with where is going to be best suited to their needs. I havent stayed in S. Eulalia myself but spend a day there and thought it was lovely.

Good shout, I must look into figueritas. Have you stayed there before?

Are you going for Villas or hotel accommodation?

Yeah stayed at Figuretas loads mate, always found it to be pleasant…loads of hotels to suit every budget and plenty of supermarkets etc to keep stocked up. Some nice bars and places to eat as well on the beach, and you can walk to ibiza town or PDB in 20 mins/30 mins…I'm sure others here will have stayed there.

We are actually getting married in a hotel so we have to book it for a few days….so immediate family will stay with us there….its more where friends and extended family will stay. Many of our friends will go down the villa route as they are going to try and make a week of it and a lot of them will have stayed in villas before.

Well a few months ago, I would suggest picking a nice 4 star hotel like the Bellamar for yourself and stick the families with kids and so on over the road in the Hawai, but I think next year the Hawai will be 4 star and probably more expensive, this is a good location IMHO, close to the madness but not impacted by it so much, especially the Bellamar which takes no shit from younger guests, as for the villas, many are in the middle of nowhere, I can't think of anything worse than these places, gasping for a pint and bit of banter and always a taxi ride away from the nearest bar beach toilet roll shop etc,

That's my tuppence hapenny worth, have a great time regardless were you bunk down.

Kev
