Weather in May?

I’ve never been to Ibiza before and am thinking of going sometime during first / second week of May. Can people comment on what the weather is likely to be like then? Is it sun tan territory?!
Thanks

it's definitely sun tan territory yes. the temperatures can be up to 30°c already if you're lucky, but certainly in the 20-25°c range normally daytime. it does get chilly at night still so bring a jumper too. what I need to add is that in may there is risk for a rainy day or two or sometimes also days with a lot of wind. so to sum up, if the weather is nice it'll be really warm and absolutely lovely, but you just don't have the 'good weather guarantee' yet at that time of the year.

We've been in February and March before. This is the first time bringing our 11yr old out of season and she'll want pool, beach and me in the water...thats why we're staying in PDT.. more hours sunshine

well if march turns out a nice month and temperatures go up again soon (it's cold right now) then I think you've got beach and swim chances. I went swimming in salinas this past saturday just before the weather changed.

Welcome to the obsession madam......

In late May the sun is only four weeks shy of being at it's highest point, meaning if a stiff breeze makes it feel cool; the sun is attacking your body big time! My main groan with May is that the outdoor pools and sea are still too chilly for this wimp, but on the plus side you do get that hot sun and beaches tend to still be fairly empty (and beach car-parks for drivers). Also the airport is quieter - fewer queues!

My first trip of the year is the very first week of May; I'll drop some snaps off and give a weather report if I can pull myself out of the hotel's indoor poolie.
