im leaving for ibiza on friday and was really looking forward to the we love...... opening party, but im not realy that impressed with the line-up, other than lawler & cattaneo im not really interested, its seems all the other weeks have more big names than the opening which is a bit strange
 
they seem to be playing their cards pretty close to their chests this year. I wouldn't be surprised if an, ahem, 'surprise' guest plays.

Either that or they reckon it'll be full anyway, and rocking too, so why bother paying annother dj?

anyways, that's a pretty good line-up, all good Space dj's too.
 
yeh i was thinking they may add a 'surpise' dj, but i s'ppose it will be packed to the rafters no matter what, its just looks like the inside is gonna be a bit shabby, cause according to the flyer TODD TERRY, ROOTY, TOM NOVY & LAWLER are all playing on the terrace, i know LAWLER will come in and play the inside as well probably but thats only him & CATTANEO, what they gonna do for the rest of the 16 or so hours, just all residents?
 
only one i heard last year (not counting zabiela) was david philips and i wasnt atol impressed, was about 9 o'clock in the evening just before zabiela was about to come on and he was belting out emerge by fischerspooner, didnt really set the correct mood for what was to follow. but ill be going along anyways cause im not missing cattaneo for anything, looking forward to it.
 
i saw Terry playing a few months ago, here in amsterdam. But i wasn't really impressed. But looking forward to hear old Lawler again, and Zabiela the next week.

Was most excited bout seeing the Daddy that is Todd Terry on the terrace as it was but add to that Rooty (saw them a few years ago on terrace and it was my set of the holiday) and Tom Novy (who blew me away last year on terrace) and it doesn't get much better than that :D

grandmater flash is playing both dates in the new small club where the upstairs indoor balcony used to be - should be amazing

If this is right then it's a real shame Todd Terry's not playing on the terrace IMO :(

Grandmaster flash in the new small room? (who care, i know he is a legend but I'm going sunday afternoon in the terrace not in a small dark room, so who cares?)

Eric Morillo: OK on the terrace he is wonderfulm I was on the opening party and he played great music but I can see him in Pacha every week so....

Where are the big Terrace DJ's? Green Velvet, Sneak, Fat Boy Slim, Laurent Garnier, Derick Carter, Danny Tenaglia ...????

Do the promoter of We Love want to increase his revenue in saving the costs for the DJ's?? :evil:

is this policy not in line with a lot of the nights - less djs and longer sets

lawler is doing 2 sets most nights 1 inside & 1 out
haven't heard anyone questioning Judgement Sundays for Jules' 2 sets or Global for Carl Cox's 2 sets! are those nights not doing a similar thing?

and most of the "superstar" djs aren't doing vast amounts of dates in Ibiza these days - Sasha has about 4, Digweed 1 so far, Tenaglia might not even play

as for questioning Lawler, smokin Jo & Zabiela

Lawler - dubbed King of Space by the owner, one of the most respected Djs in the business

Zabiela - Sashas protege, top 10 in DJ mag poll and got tremendous reviews for last years residency

Smokin' Jo - Ibiza institution as shown in her re-booking for Manumission again and other bookings across the island

I was waiting the line up of We Love for seeing some DJ I rarely I can see/hear during the rest of year. But Lawler, Zabiela (who is a great DJ, saw him lat year), Smoking Jo are all DJ's I saw so many times every where. And the kind of music they are playing are much more similar than some people think. I wanted to listen to some "speciality" DJ, e.g. Groove Armada, Sneak, French DJ's etc.. DJ's that play records I can hardly find in the shops.. But as you said some of them are coming but rarely. I thing they would like to come but promoter doesn't want to pay more money or maybe DJ's want to much money? Don't know.

I hope you get my point. Nothing against the usual Space DJ's but they are every year the same...

However big love to all Ibiza Lovers!!!!!! ;)
