i love sci-fi films

Its only a 12 which really surprised me because i was shit scared all the way through and there was some woman next to me screaming

Not a big fan of these sort of films, but I do want to see this, think its one that needs to be watched on the big screen too, so may let Paul take me

class film but the ending is a massive letdown, are we to believe that the aliens are fighting one minute and then they turn the corner and there dying from a poor head cold the next  the son should of died and and what was up when they got to boston the city was untouched and his family were still in there house, jokes. :?

The way the aliens die is the way they died in the book & the previous film version. Makes a nice change from a group of smug Yanks saving the day. ;)

I thought it was a cracking film - very tense and intense! Only Tom's singing (cringe) let it down.

It's a good film because the orginal storyline is great and visually this version is awesome, but I couldn't help feeling that it had been dragged out to 2 1/2 hours just to fit in loads of special effects which made the plot a bit fragmented. Well worth watching tho.

It was actually < 2hrs and passed by very quickly, I thought.

I haven't read the book, but have seen the original film and heard the audio version (popular in the 70s or 80s - showing my age  ).

Thats what the bloke in the box office told us when we bought the tickets, didnt time it so i wont argue :)

I didnt think it dragged particularly, just thought it was a tad 'Day after tomorrow'-esque in places, you know "look how much money we've thrown at this"

Watched this last night. Not bad film, SFX were really good, and the film went along nicely until they went into that basement with the half-crazy guy. Then it went totally shit. They spent far to long in there and it was boring, really ruinned the pace of the film, Speilberg should know better

Also, 12A rating? No way it should have been that! How can dozens of people being cut in half by alien death rays be ok for kids of any age to see (with an adult)?

No where near as good as Batman, which is amazing! 8) :D 8)
