muppet

8O theres more than a degree of truth in my statement.........kudos should always go to the musician..... 8O

So if all producers are so talented why are some of them no good as DJ's if all they have to do is just spin some vinyl...???

Beat Matching & Mixing is the easy party .
Chooseing the right tracks in a good order in a nice flow is the harder part and this is what alot of people pick up on :)

DJ's are just no talent. Simple as that.
They are no musicians.

The whole meaning of the ''DJ'' letters is worhtless.

For example, a well skilled musician, with conservatory skills, able to play within a royal orchestra in vienna, is asked to spin the deks in a club.
He/she will DAMN prepare him/herself to bring something pure and attractive to the audience espected (not a lot of sunset hooligans at cafe del mar I hope so).

Most DJ's and award winning DJ cafe's in Amsterdam at the moment score because they trace so called DJ talent from the gutter (Crem De La Gutter is a famous partynight nowadays). People without ANY musical background. They just fill the space, for a few euro's. When it is crap it is fine because they are crap from the beginning and nobody cares. Whuh?

What is a good formula for a good DJ: that the audience is happy from beginning to end. So he/she has to be flexible and brutal and a servant in normal entertainment business!

Can we think of something new for this? It is so empty!

most of that i agree with... but "ANYBODY can spin records?" - mmm, lemme see beatmatching and training yr brain to seperate two sources of music is something we are all born with, plus being able feel the vibe off by the punters, and is making sure that the next track you put on goes into the next one. DJ-ing is an art... something u learn, and need a spark of talent to be able to do... a bit like making music...

:x

Producing music is the real testament of being a true artist.

Trance/Dance music producers are the musicians.

Yup, and the DJ's are the entertainers.

Of course the one who is putting the score on the vinyl is the one who is making the music. If he/she is doing good people will like it.

I know a lot of "DJ's" who played so terrible that their club had to close because everybody runned away because of a very lack of talent. Cosey places, mismanaged by this DJ hype.

Spinning the vynil is chapter two.

By the way, let's discuss, don't burk please. It is not about Ibiza DJ's, it is about the "DJ" mark in general. Maybe we have to invent a better, more musical mark for this tribute. And somedbody to hold control.

Burk!
