Is Silv around today?

Quick Spanish question for you: there is a race horse which is doing quite well at the moment called "Voy por Estedes".....can you let me know what it means? My guess is "I am going for your" but just wondering if its something different.

Hola!

Don't you mean "Va por ustedes" or "voy por ustedes"??

The first option is used by singers or toreros or artists in general. If a singer wants to dedicate (¿?) or offer a song specially for the audience he would say "Va por ustedes". You can also used it to dedicate something to someone

The second one I guess it's a bad translation of the first option. The literal translation it would mean I'm coming for you; I'm coming to pick you up; I'm going for you :D
 
Thanks for the answer Silv. The horse is actually called "Voy por Ustedes" and I think your guess that it is bad translation might be correct.
Still a good horse though and will have a chance at Cheltenham in March! ;)
(which is the big horse racing event of the year in the UK in case your wondering).

what race?? champion hurdle?? or is he chasing??
 
Yeah they seem to be dropping like flies at the moment. The Gold Cup is looking like a decent handicap race (at best) at the moment!!

its one of my golden rules to never bet using sentiment/emotion (i.e. picking a horse cos i like the name or somethin) but after i'd checked the form yesterday, i was confident he'd get the trip and be in the mix, so i had a sizeable sum on him to be placed (betfair), watched the highlights and it was a stunning performance.:D

certainly keep my eyes peeled for him running in the future8)
