Villa Location/ Club Nights

Long time lurker on here - going to Ibiza for the first time this summer from in June! There'll be 10 of us and we are booking into a villa; we have been given a couple of locations:

- Carrer Sant Jordi 3, Josep de sa Talaia (about 4km from Bossa apparently)
- The other looks further into the hills, but has a bus stop v nearby.

Does anyone here know of the former place and more generally, is location that important?!

1 last question - to get the best deal we are booking a few clubs up in advance - We Love and Circo Loco are 2 definites; we are choosing between 'Music On' and 'Insane' for the Friday (already confirmed that Gerber's Wisdom of the Glove will take that night over) - can anyone vouch for either?

Cheers :)

Not putting you off or playing down villa;s .But with it begin your first time.I would book a hotel a/i.That way you will get fed. Drink yourself silly.Beds made up and room cleaned.Villa;s are ok if you know your way around. But if not your gonna need a taxi or walk a long way home.Plus booking a hotel in resort your going to see more action on your doorstep.
Taxi fares mount up.

Are you gonna hire a couple of cars? If not you're probably better off in a hotel in PDB (jet/bossa mar etc).

Thanks for the response guys - how much is car rental in Ibiza for a week? A villa was an attractive proposition purely to try to properly chill out during the day (if possible!) - but as I said, location is a slight worry.
Dirk, the only thing with San An is that the vast majority of the nights we'd be interested in are in PDB - thoughts? But yes, Insane does look good - we already plan on going Cocoon after DC10 so maybe trying Pacha out would be a good shout.

San Antonio is so much more fun in between clubbing excursions. Taxis or the disco bus are all part of the experience.

Be prepared to put up up with a lot of faux rich and wankers in PDB if you stay there.

PDB to Amnesia and San An to Amnesia must be the same cost in a taxi. Bang in the middle.

To be fair though most of the nights he is talking about are on the east of the island. Dirk has a pdb hangup! For what its worth (and without trying to get into a pdb vs san an debate) I like both. Both have their fair share of knobends. You could stay at either and still have a wicked time. The biggest advantage to being on the west coast (for me anyway) is obviously sunsets and the plethora of bars set up to cater for the whole experience.

I stayed in Figueretas last year at Lux Mar. Wasn't too pricey in comparison to pdb which has shot up in price due to Ushuaia etc. Quiet enough during the day and very close to Ibiza Town and Pdb so you're never too far away.

I've never stayed in a villa myself and it appeals to me. The biggest problem tends to be access. Thats fine if you're hiring cars and have a couple of folk who are prepared to stay legit to ferry people around, I just think for your first trip it might be a mistake. Staying in a resort whichever one you choose means everything is on your doorstep. Tbh id recommend getting a car for a few days at least anyway to explore so your Villa option might be a shout.

Regardless of what you choose you'll have an ace time. Come back here after you've been and let us know how you got on.

what are the names of the villa's?
Ive stayed in a couple which I think are around that area. There is no point getting a villa if you dont have a hire car(s) in my opinion. You'll want to go to the big / cheap supermarkets to get stuff for bbqs etc and getting provisions for 10 ppl will be sooo much easier with a car.

Being in a villa you do definitely feel 'away from it all' which is great but sometimes Ive felt like im definitely missing out on the party vibe and also a lot less eye candy. It depends what you want from the holiday but I would say a villa suits groups that have been before and want a different type of holiday and want to explore the island / chill during the day.

Realistically all those villa;s near the san jordi / san josep main road are not walkable to PDB , distance wise maybe but practically , no.

Let us know if you have any more specific questions. Dont listen to Dirk

Hi all - thanks for your responses.

Marc - the villas were with the 'Together' company - Salinas and Sol den Serra villas, but trying to look at others which are more central. I think the only worry is being completely "away from it all" as you say (which would be the case with those villas) - somewhere reasonably central, preferably to PDB, would be ideal for us I think.

Have you had experience booking villas before then?

Hmm looking at those 2 they are not in the area I was thinking of and not that close to PDB. There are very few villa's close to PDB they simply dont exist! the few that do get booked up pretty quickly i think.

I booked a villa through the main Spotlight site and it was very simple , highly recommended. My friend booked the other one through owners direct , wasn't quite as simple but worked out fine.

You will need to be able to pay a security deposit around 500eu on arrival normaly

i'd really decide between...

A - staying in a resort (whichever really) and simply hire two or three nice apartments for all the group and enjoy being close to everything. this also means you don't need any rental cars, you'll find restaurants and bars close by, you're close to clubs etc etc etc - all very handy

B - getting a villa. but if I did, i personally definitely wouldn't get one close to pdb, but a proper nice one out in the quiet instead (san josé/es cubells area for example), which has nice views, a great pool, no neighbours nearby etc etc. this is what the 'villa' experience means to me personally. but this obviously implicates getting two or three cars for the whole group, having to do proper grocery shopping tours every now and then, being a bit organised when it comes to going out clubbing (either designate drivers or call taxis) etc. but to me personally, getting a villa really close to the resorts is a bit pointless.

Thanks for the responses yet again - we've been looking at some places and for what's available/ price the 'Osiris Apartments' seem the best bet - has anyone here stayed there? (Realise it will just be a base and not much else!)

Cheers

atps are at the back of the sports bar pub.just set back on a side street off main through road in pbd.less than 10 mins to space bora bora etc.supermarket spar just round corner.

Have you considered staying in both San An and PDB areas. That's what I did 1st time I went and after alternating for the last 4 years between the 2 I still don't have a favourite so I'm doing both again this year, it's definitely the way to go.

i would reiterate the comment above who said to swerve the villa due to the fact that it is your first time. Staying in a resort (whichever resort - im not having a PDB v San An debate!) will be loads easier for you as you dont know the ropes etc in terms of where everything is.

I think you need to stay somewhere that is closer to bars, beaches etc etc with it being your first time.

Also - the whole villa thing requires a LOT of planning and thought in terms of being organised for nights out etc etc. Getting taxis to the villa (especially during peak season) can be a real pain. And, in my opinion, having one hire car is not sufficient, you need two at least otherwise you end up paying for taxis to get out of the villa to collect the car from wherever you drove it to the previous day. This means costs can really mount up.

Regardless of what you decide to do, have a great time!
