Vests in clubs

Just a wee warning to any guys who might wear a vest out clubbing in Ibiza, in my case privilege for El Row on Saturday night.

I amongst several other lads who I spoke to outside were refused entry because we were wearing vests, we were given the option of a non vest wearing friend to go into the privilege shop to buy a 30€ t-shirt to gain entry.

Strangely this rule didn't seem to apply to Spanish customers, strangely I wasn't asked to leave when after a while in the club I took the t-shirt off as had the lads I spoke to outside the club.

Thats very poor form. Ive never heard of anything like that in Ibiza before. It seems Ibiza (or clubbing in Ibiza) is becoming more and more divided. This depending on appearance and the increase in 'VIP' or as Faruk (ex of Ku) says 'Very Rich Person' . Are the old days of people from every race and walk of life becoming unified on the dancefloor on the wane?? By no means do I think that spirit is totally gone by the way.

this MIGHT only have little to do with the fact you were wearing a vest. el row CAN be a bit picky about who they let in, even if that sounds a bit surprising. they want a nicely mixed crowd and want to keep the UK % on a certain level. and as vests are (mainly) the UK raver's first choice, you might have been their target group. and if you now say "but the spanish were also wearing vests", then yes, but el row is a spanish night :)

Nah - it just sounds like a bright idea to flog a few overpriced t-shirts to some gringos

Haha I do remember that thread a while back. What I will say is the Elvis Jesus vest I wore that night is a lot nicer than the naff touristy Privelege t-shirt I had to buy. A vest isn't something I'd wear every night out clubbing in Ibiza, I'm usually a shirt or t-shirt guy but on this occassion opted for a vest.

The crowd at El Row really wasn't any different mix from what you see at other clubs on Ibiza.
