I Just Saw The End Of Infos In The News Tv - Tvn 24 That They Found And Blow Up Some Bombs In Ibiza Today!!!! Probably Made By Eta. Is Enyone Knows Something Regarding This Subject???? Esspecialy Moderators? I'm Comming There Tommorow Straight To Space And I'm A Little Bit Scarry...
 
Seriously though... I'm coming in from L.A. via Barcelona in Aug and just read about the incident on CNN.com. What gives? Was it really an ETA bomb or did someone forget their rucksack?

I keep thinking of that club in Bali that got hit a few years back. I met a guy from around here who was in it when it blew. Bad story.
 
Don't cancel your trip dude.

You can bet the place will be on high alert so you're probably flying at the best time.


I'm flying out of the UK on Monday for work and won't be chaging my plans....
 
do we know any details? where in the airport where they? this is totally freaking me out. I thought about the Bali thing too. Looks like the gov has more to worry about than the drugs. Know we have to worry about blowing up the clubs. At least we'll be in the place we love if it is the end!

No, they are nothing to do with what is going on in the UK. The quickest way to describe it is the spanish equivalent of the IRA.
 
No bomb at all

Don't worry. There wasn't any bomb at Ibiza airport. ETA called saying there was a bomb in the airport ready to explode in 40 minutes so the airport was evacuated quickly. Just panic and chaos, that's what the terrorists want us to feel.
 
I just flew back from Madrid today with someone who was in the Ibiza airport when all this happened. From what he said, there was just a harmless "suspicious package" left about and the police destroyed it.

From reading the news, it appears an ETA-related hoax bomb thread simply coincided with some poor schmuck's loss of his/her backpack. :?

I've been wanting to go to Ibiza ever since I first saw the bubbliciously nubile Brooke Burke report from Ibiza for "Wild On E!" on the E Channel. (That's "E" for "Entertainment"- no drug pun intended. Would have made for some kinda show otherwise!)

I assure you, I have NO intention of cancelling my trip. If anything... I'll be extending it!
 
Why on earth would anyone cancel their trip? You can't avoid things like this. You've more chance of being hit by a bus.

I for one shall still be getting on the plane tonight and having a damn good 10 days!

I heard it was a suspect package too, more then a bomb scare.

Im flying out Friday but wont let it bother me, like someone else said it will be extra extra safe if anything.

According to El país, la vanguardia, el mundo and all the other spanish newspapers the evacuation wasn't because of a suspect package, ETA did call Gara (newspaper) telling about a bomb in the airport, which is their usual way to advise about bombs

Right. Afterwards, there were an airport evacuation and search - standard procedure anywhere when a bomb threat is phoned in.

All they found were an empty shoe box and somebody's forgotten rucksack. Disposed of those (robot to open shoe box, controlled explosion on the bag) and the airport reopened.

Story over! :D
