Vaughan interviewed

Yeah, he’s basically someone who’s seen it all over the last 40+ years. The stuff about the dispute with Pacha was pretty eye-opening. He’s from that generation that genuinely lived to party and didn’t give a fk. Only met him once at the Monkey Bar before that got busted. Feels like the new bar is one last throw of the dice before packing it in. I agreed with a lot of the things he was moaning about, esp the joke prices and all the money/status-obsessed bollocks, but equally I think we’ve moved on from live sex shows and maybe he’s still a bit stuck in that era? In general, i thought it was fascinating to get that all that history, insight and goss which just ultimately showed just how boring everyone is now.

Just listening to this now. Don’t know how much of it to believe tbh.

I agreed with him about the the negative changes to the island and how tough it is to be different/interesting now in a sea of bland. Some of the wilder recollections from earlier in his life might be taken with a pinch of salt though.

the dispute with Pacha sounded plausible enough. For those who haven't seen it, he said he got on well with the Urgells and that the new people in charge have trashed the legacy and ruined what made Flower Power distinctive. Not for me to comment, and it could be sour grapes, but it sounds like it has got pretty nasty. I'm inclined to his POV if only because he's mates with Willie Graff, whereas the new owners aren't exactly music people
