The lineup just announced for anyone who's thinking of going:

Paul Weller
Keane
Radiohead
Morrisey
Ordinary Boys
Beautiful South
Orson
The Feelings
Magic Numbers
Faithless
The Charlatans
Beck
Fatboy Slim
Bloc Party
Kasabian

Poor, in my opinion

it's not poor - Radiohead are as big as it comes when looking at a headliner, as for dance faithless, grove armarda and FAT boy - Fat boy is top class live (so I've heard)

Plus the Magic numbers, Bloc party are wicked day time acts

still got 2 dance areans to announce, plus 60 more bands so calm down:x

I think it's quite a nice line up, when you consider the 2 dance areas still to be confirmed and the B-Bar never fails to impress!

Waiting to hear from others to see what we're doin but looking like doing the sunday only and GG instead. It's hard to get excited about festivals when it's minus 50 and snowing outside! I keep thinking about Faith DJ's last year in the baking sunshine but i can't see past the snow outside

sara - I'm not a massive fan of Morrisery but I know you are, if we manage to catch him I will get bec to video record him for you

There's a few people on there who I like - Weller. Morrisey, The Charlatans, Fatboy, Kasabian...........but I'd rather eat my poo than spend a wkend in a tent in Chelmsford  ;)

I think the line up looks good.... Kasabian good old Leicester band! I've heard their new materials good!

On another matter anyone like that Orson song? I can't get it out of my head!

How so?

A weekend a year running around in the rain and dancing in big mud puddles with a bottle of poppers fixed to your nose does everyone the world of good!

You were such a disobedient rebellious B____ when you returned last year  I think the outcome from your B____ review would be that you wouldn't be attending V again without responsible adult suprvision in the form of your b____o__ and s_____

Ooh. me likes them too. Faithless, Beck and Beautiful South as well.

Always wanted to see Morrissey live.

So, what's the deal with this festival. Is the hotel idea viable or are you forced to do this tent living stuff? And how much does this one cost? (hopefully not as expensive as that other festival!) and when is it?

There are hotels in the area but they get booked up pretty quickly. You'd also have to get a cab to and from the festival site every day. Hotels are really only for people who are afraid of a bit of dirt or are very rich. I thought about staying in one last year (not because Im rich but because I dont like dirt  ) but eventually decided on a tent and had so much fun rolling around the campsite, eating BBQ'd sausages and drinking spritzers in the sunshine that I'd definately camp again this year :D

Just make sure your tent is away from the toilets otherwise you'll be living in a constant stench of sewers for the weekend!

I quite fancy going to this. I haven't done a festival with camping yet and I think it's one of the things I should do before I'm 30.

weekend tickets are £120, same as Big Chill. Campsites open Friday morning and close Monday morning. Wouldn't stay in a hotel, you lose one of the biggest + points of the weekend which is camping in a circle with your mates, having BBQ's, sitting up all night and yes, maybe getting very wet and muddy!
