Yes. I use my spanish cards abroad and never had any problem. Use the search option and you'll find some post about it ;)

MrCarl, withdrawing cash abroad is in my opinion the best option anyway.

It's what I've ALWAYS done myself - every couple of days I withdraw a couple hundred quids worth of Euros and bobs your uncle!

It's a cheap way of getting your cash. It costs about £2 for every transaction.

But does switch work over there? thats my worry... cos switch is generally a uk thing, I know visa will work over there...

Yep, it certainly does mate - I've always used switch myself.

Even if it didn't, you could always go to a kiosk and get it there.

Check the back of the Switch card- if it has a mastercard-like logo saying 'Maestro' or 'Cirrus' (as I'm sure 99.9% of them do) then you're fine.

Technically, switch doesnt work abroad, but they will accept maestro which is something ALL switch cards have and can actually be found on the front of new switch cards as Maestro will be replacing switch. Swich is actually due to be phased out over the next couple of years.
