The reason for the system is that they make more money. A percentage of people will leave without using all their tokens up. Good idea from a business point of view. Bad idea as you double the queues to get a drink.

... if any hotel thinks I'm about to 'hand over' a scan of my fingerprint to them they are out of their minds. In this age of identity theft does anyone honestly think in their rightful minds that this is actually a sensible thing to do ??????????????????????????????? Absolutely CRAZY !shane_saintsfc

Yes. What would anyone do with your fingerprint? Unless they burn it onto their own finger to commit crime which lets face it, Isn't going to happen.
Pay Touch is guest only? Anyway we will all be paying that way soon all around the world, Smartphones are the new credit card....
No once you register with the site (who protects your fingerprint data) any person can use the technology anywhere that has the scaner.
They convert your fingerprint into a digital code.....you never have to physically leave a print...
I think its just a sign of the times. In a decades time we won't think twice about scanning our fingerprint or eyes to make payment/identify ourselves - its just the way technology is heading.
Lets face it, as of this week you can use an app on your mobile phone to withdraw cash with certain banks.
I can understand people being wary of it, but when you think about it, its infinitely more secure than the current debit card system.
Bound to be loads of people who don't trust the idea, and who stick to their guns with chip & pin & signature, cheques etc. Hell, I even know some people who are still very much anti-buying anything online because of the fear of fraud.
