I think its just a sign of the times. In a decades time we won't think twice about scanning our fingerprint or eyes to make payment/identify ourselves - its just the way technology is heading.
Lets face it, as of this week you can use an app on your mobile phone to withdraw cash with certain banks.
I can understand people being wary of it, but when you think about it, its infinitely more secure than the current debit card system.
Bound to be loads of people who don't trust the idea, and who stick to their guns with chip & pin & signature, cheques etc. Hell, I even know some people who are still very much anti-buying anything online because of the fear of fraud.
