UK Djs Wanted!

Dont want to put a dampner on it but you should never pay to become a part of a dj-agency. Agencys looking for money tend to be a scam

agreed. If you've played at any nights in London you can get listed on harderfaster for free.

Agreed too. This is a waste of money. No promoters in their right mind are going to use this to book DJ's. 8O

Can't be doin all that well if you need to sign up to forums to promote your master site!

Will the mini-sites be promoted in the same way?

"The option to use the UK-Djs.net logo on your promotional material
- This will give a profession edge to your PR material"

Dunno what you mean Alex? If the logo's there, I'll be chucking cash at you!

I see the anti-website flak being fired with determination into the air here from Spotlight members.....

There's quite a few of these booking sites, so many that I can't remember most of the names.

Have no problem with these things if their revenue is gained as a percenage of booking fees they secure you. This one however wants £50 off any numbnuts stupid enough to give it them for no concieveable benefit whatsoever!

I didn't see the £50 thing. Give it a few weeks and the site will be either (a) unchanged. or (b) gone.

And sadly there is a few of them... but if they are crazy enough to list those as their top tunes they deserve:

a) to be mugged off

and

b) to get no bookings

Agencies are only really for dj's who've been about a while and cemented themselves in the scene to the point that a company feels they can make money on you.
This usually only applies to a very small percentage.
Very few agencies actually get you any gigs, until you start working with people like excession, serious etc, and they're all a or b list dj's.

Before you get to that stage, it's much easier to promote yourself. Any agency asking for money up front is a con i'm afraid. An agent should take a percentage of your fee and should fully deal in contracts, booking fees etc.
